Barack Obama is “an appointed minister of God to do what is good,” according to the prayer of Republican Gov. Bob McDonnell at the Commonwealth Prayer Breakfast held at the Richmond, Va., convention center.
The annual breakfast yesterday drew more than 1,000 people, including many of the state’s leaders. In addition to McDonnell, others offering prayers included Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli, House Speaker William Howell and state Democrat Chairwoman Charniele Herring.
McDonnell asked, during his prayer for Obama, that God give him “the wisdom of Solomon.”...

One of the problems of the conservative church in this country is many congregations don't realize that How the Church Relates to the Kingdom. We are not in the prophesied Kingdom now.

the state church of China remained in such teachings. its not the evidence around us that confuses.... its the flesh identifying itself with prosperity instead of the universal suffering church or Bride of Christ.
God raises up Leaders of nations to bless or to curse the people, always to His own glory. This nation has fallen away from God and our failure to repent and return to His righteousness has earned us the leadership we have today. And still we refuse to repent. I guarantee things will get worse for all of us. You aint seen nothin' yet!

All persons in authority in all levels of civil government have been put in their position by God. God brings order and restraint into our sinful world even through godless leaders. Living in subjection to their leadership then becomes a matter of living in submission to God. Not only should the fear of punishment but also having a good and clear conscience before God motivate believer's subjection. Only in the situation when obeying the government would require disobeying God does the believer refuse to submit to a particular legislation that serves as a restraint or requirement.
Well, actually Barack Obama is a minister of God to do what is good... But allowing and even promoting the murder of millions of preborn babies on his watch is not doing good... Neither is trying to turn God's created order for marriage upside down by shamelessly endorsing unnatural coupling/marriage of homosexuals. President Obama will answer to King Jesus for his actions and lack of action for good while serving in the White House and my advice is that he quickly repent and turn from his wicked ways.

Sadly, I must report the president is not the ruler of the country. Legally, it isn't set up that way. Even if Jim disagrees. Apply Rom 13:3,4 to see if by his deeds he qualifies as minister of God.
I like the prayer but feel it fell into empty weightlessness. I think people pray to make themselves feel like they are better, God fearing people but their lives and theologies tell much different stories. I do believe that God appointed Mr Obama, but unfortunately, I don't see it as being for much good, but rather for His purpose...whatever that may be. I'm pretty certain that God is not happy about the ongoing baby murders, same sex marriages, improper stewardship of his provisions, and so on and so forth...
