“Queen James Bible” Clumsily Cleanses Scriptures of “Homophobia”
What do you do if you claim to be a Christian but are offended by Scriptures condemning the practice of homosexuality? If you are one of the unnamed editors of the new “Queen James Bible” (QJV), you simply rewrite the offending passages to your liking, and — voilá! — the problem is solved.
Based on the 1769 edition of the King James Version (KJV) of the Bible, the QJV changes eight passages that the editors, on their website, say “anti-LGBT [lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender] Bible interpretations commonly cite” as evidence that “homosexuality is a sin.” “We edited those eight verses in a way that makes homophobic interpretations impossible,” they assert. Indeed they did.
Ironically, on another page of the website they explain that they chose to bowdlerize the KJV because “most English Bible translations that actively condemn homosexuality have based themselves on the King James Version...
Hey, you made my day!!! Ok, at least we know you are alive now, and doing very well! "I was part of that life", "I'm not anymore"...great for you! I'm really happy for you! God chose to deliver you so keep that in mind whenever you are tempted or down because if He bothered to deliver you, then He has a plan for you.
Hey Christopher from rhode island. I'm ok, no need to be in happy. Im not on the app everyday . I try to get on to see the top stories. I'm very troubled and sickend by all the stories of gross immorality and godless attitudes in our country. I'm also deeply sorry that I was a part of that life too . But thank God I'm not any more. God bless you and all my fellow Christians who comment on here.

The KJV is still under Crown Copyright in the UK, & the patent holder is www.cambridge.org/bibles/rights
FYI, it displaced the Geneva Bible not because it's superior, but only because the latter's printing & even importation was banned by William Laud, the Arminian Archbishop of Canterbury. Thus a Dissenting Protestant had no choice but to buy a KJV when his Geneva wore out (though some KJVs were published with the “seditious” Geneva margin notes!).
While one might question the propriety of a Bible having margin notes, remember that Dissenting Protestants were treated like criminals by the Stuart dynasty, & may have lacked other sources of theological instruction.
Just a brief comment about "Retranslations" of the Bible.
Being a former (raised) and never to be again Roman Catholic who desires to see RC people saved - I have noticed their attitude that "the church" gave people the Scriptures.
This is quite a different attitude from what God-fearing, knowledgeable born again believers have: God Himself has given to us the Old and New Testaments, and we have NO Right Whatsoever to "Retranslate" or Paraphrase what He has said to suit what we want His word to say.
The ecumenical movement seems to be contributing to a stunning absence of the fear of the LORD among Evangelicals, manifested for one in an unconcern for God Word being Truth that is forever settled in heaven and binding upon all men in all places and times, The only Book by which we may know the Truth of God, where we stand with Him and Why, and what He Himself Alone has done for us that we should be saved from our sins and what we must do now to have His salvation, and not just pretend we are Christians.
Good morning, Frank. Looks like the Dead Sea Scrolls thread aged off the board. I use the Sermon Audio app and can't go into the archives where it probably ended up. Anyway, I did read your example last night and I do understand the logic. That was a good example that you posted up and I really don't take issue with that kind of change if the meaning remains in tact. I'll need to review the differences again and post some examples that I have problems with to get your thoughts on them.
Question...thank you for posting your thoughts. After coming out of Charismaticdom, I told myself that I would never again wrap my spiritual life around someone elses theology, or what they thought was right. For me, it's the Bible alone...period. if it's not in there, it isn' t true. If it didn't happen in the Bible, it never happened. A lot of people believe a lot of different things, but those things are, I think, of little importance. I think that when it comes to the salvation process and the rules for Christian living, the Bible is crystal clear, and that's what's really important. Pre trib, post trib, age of the Earth, the Nephilim, translation matters, etc, etc, etc...I feel like I know what I know, but everyone will be on the same page in the end. I don't think things like

Thank you Paul. You are absolutely right!
Great job indeed! Doug Kutilek would do well to repent of his hypocrisy and subterfuge.
THE SPIRIT ITSELF is a thrilling expose of his agenda to cause Bible believers to reject the KJV without learning all the facts. This article will bless all Bible believers everywhere, even those who read a modern version where the Spirit of God is referred to in a neuter way.
Thanks Jim for the link. I hadn't seen that one before. The only thing I argue against are the KJO folks, but the rest I leave alone unless they want to bring up specific issues. It does annoy me when someone uses the KJ as a litmus test though, and many do regardless of what they say, so I try to post using the KJ when time permits, otherwise those folks will ignore my posts. And if that is true, why bother to post.
Anyone who reads this bible to understand God's word is a heretic. If someone reads it for critical purposes, then that is a different issue. I often say, I am anxious to learn about someone, but am very discerning when it comes to learning from someone. What brother or sister in Christ could be confused by this bible?
Two can play this game, I have a new version, it is called the not-lgbt version. According to my version, they have to shut down their organization, liquidate their assets, and give their monies to the Boy Scouts of America.
