There is no danger at all for polio vaccines given by shots, q.v., Polio Vaccine--Questions and Answers and very little danger with the oral vaccine (See the same source.)
The Taliban was worried about spying which I doubt these women were doing and by the false tales of sterilization of any action done by Westerners, including giving food to Muhammadans. Apparently they think all people behave like they do.
