Hundreds pack Conn. church for vigil after rampage
Twenty-six candles — one for each of the victims — flickered on the altar Friday as hundreds of grief-stricken residents gathered for a vigil in memory of the children and staff killed in a shooting rampage at a school in this Connecticut town.
With the church filled to capacity, hundreds spilled outside, holding hands in circles in the cold night air and saying prayers. Others sang "Silent Night" or huddled near the windows of St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic church.
"Many of us today and in the coming days will rely on what we have been taught and what we believe, that there is faith for a reason," Gov. Dannel P. Malloy said at the vigil Mass....

John Yurich Here at the time of year when people remember the birth of Christ it would be good for all of us to soberly reconsider and remember when John the Baptist preceded Him in his ministry the Spirit moved this John to say to all of us:
'Make straight the way of the Lord.'
As there is a narrow gate and a difficult way that leads to life, eternal life and a wide gate and an easy rode that leads to destruction, one that many are on, many who will say to Jesus, 'Lord, Lord' and be cast out because they practised iniquity and not the obedience of faith and Jesus never knew them.
Jesus Died! is a wonderfully encouraging video clip to those who would have a faith that is for real and not for somekind of damnable let's pretend mixture of a little bit of Jesus with a self made religion of ones own liking.
Its easy to turn to your father when you are but a child in need, but what of the times of joy when you "SEEM" to have found his favor? During the Mass the priest offers prayers in Jesus name. So it is false to state that Catholics do not offer prayers in Jesus name. At bedtime when I pray to Jesus for forgiveness of sins I end the prayer by stating "In Thy most Glorious and Holy Name Amen". And when I pray to the Father I end the prayer by stating "In Jesus Glorious and Holy Name Amen".

It is false to state that the entire Mass is idolatrous when there are scriptural parts to the Mass. How stupid can anybody be to make such a false statement that the entire Mass is idolatrous? And just being around graven images is not in violation of the Second Commandment. What violates the Second Commandment is praying to and bowing down to graven images. And if prayers are said to Jesus and the Father in Jesus Name then they are heard. The Bible states that prayers offered in Jesus Glorious and Holy Name are heard by God.
Frank, The Catholic Church is not Satan's Church. Satan's Church is the Church of Satan founded by Levay I believe. And the Pope is not the earthly leader for Non Catholics. Nor does the Pope claim to be the earthly leader for Non Catholics. That would be stupid for the Catholic Church to claim that Non Catholics need the Pope as their earthly leader when they have their ministers as their earthly leader.

Question: Why did the Roman Catholics go the way of their religion? Answer: Man has 'religion' in his heart but does not have 'faith' in there to guide it into divine truth. Therefore man makes human choices which appear to him as religious but in effect are merely emotive and affections. These cater to his need to help others and live in community and family. This man made religion brings with it mans need for material and temporal rites, ceremonies and palpable and tangible icons which he can relate to by his senses, eg the graven images. Thus do we discern and observe the Roman Catholic religion of mans invention with rituals and relics, which exclude the Lord.
The great problem with mans religion is that it is idolatrous and 'alternative' to God, Christ and the Holy Spirit, whose religion is only by faith and is spiritual not worldly. The reason why the Roman Catholic religion cannot work is that God is not there. Yes there may be human communication of human affection and even comfort but no divine purpose and no Holy Spirit in power. That is no crucified Christ.

The true body of Christ has choices. Maybe doing the comforting the Catholics are doing, but in Jesus' name, would be a better approach.

I call the below from Mark; the most truthful error ever committed. Yes, only God can forgive sins, the truth, but not recognizing that God was in their midst and was forgiving this man; the error. Talk about proof of the diety of Christ!

The list of Catholic heresies is endless, but to me when a "sinner" with a pointed hat says he is my high priest and those he designates can “absolve” me from sins, ranks right at the top. There is “one” mediator between God and man and that is our Lord and Savior.

That's the way of it Frank. The subtlety of the Catholic Church is quite remarkable, that it should ensnare and keep captive so many around the world. But then, that is the evil of claiming so much power in the spiritual sense. If you can convince people that their eternal destiny is dependent upon you giving them the body and blood of the Saviour, and hearing your confession and giving forgiveness through penitent acts, then the battle is won - you have got them, body and soul. And, as you say, the media assists them in this.
Praise GOD that a poor lost sinner can approach directly unto the Lord Jesus Christ and, with a believing and repentant heart, can trust in him personally, being born again of the word of God, and receive eternal life with never a "priest" present.

To speak against them then becomes hateful; in particular to speak against them when they are providing solace to those that are grieving so much by this tragedy. So we are faced with what is taking place today. There are parents who are grieving to such an extent that I can’t even imagine. But, they are being comforted by Satan’s church. The true body of Christ is left with few choices; to speak out against the church that is providing them comfort would be hateful in the minds of those around us; to not speak out would be giving credence to Satan’s church. Well Neil, when we expire we know we shall be with Jesus, who is our focus. But Catholics are so focused on Mary that I thought maybe "Maryland" would be the place for them to go.

Such ignorance of Bible truth and doctrine leads the people to clutch at empty straws, in times such as these.
