Huckabee: Schools ‘A Place Of Carnage’ Because We ‘Systematically Removed God’

Former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee attributed the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in part to restrictions on school prayer and religious materials in the classroom.

"We ask why there is violence in our schools, but we have systematically removed God from our schools," Huckabee said on Fox News, discussing the murder spree that took the lives of 20 children and 6 adults in Newtown, CT that morning. "Should we be so surprised that schools would become a place of carnage?"

Law enforcement has released few details on the alleged gunman, but Huckabee suggested that the separation of church and state may have spurred his rampage. ...

I like your response, S.F. John I think you'll find we do need to put Divorce on Trial But, yes, there are other problems as well the main one is not being Christian!

Ah, gentlemen there is nothing wrong in eating healthy foods, Daniel 1:8-16 (New American Standard Bible)

Ah, but I think Neil, pointed something along these lines about putting things into perspective, jpw!

Matthew 15
10 And after He called the multitude to Him, He said to them, "Hear, and understand.
11 "Not what enters into the mouth defiles the man, but what proceeds out of the mouth, this defiles the man."---NASB

Not knowing the medical background of you fellows, everything else be standard--gotten your flu shots yet?

We have noticed a huge difference in our family's health since pitching the standard grocery store boxed junk. I will not go into it on a public forum like this but our lives have been totally changed as a result. Hugely. Mind you, it is not easy, especially with a large family. Real food is so expensive. That is why we need to be growing our own. And by the way, if you can pitch the soda and Cheetoes, you can grow much of your food in a moderate garden. You do not have to have 100's of acres.

We enjoy many of the things that come out of cities, technology for instance, but most of those things are not vital. Food is vital and to grow food as God intended it you need dirt/land.

Full Length Movie: The Drugging of Our Children

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=26e5PqrCePk

what is wrong with us?

mental illness (or extreme manifestations of evil) can be both spiritual and physical. we see throughout history that those with malnutrition and chemical poisoning have an increase in psychosis. (because the mind is not a floating organism on top of the body, but rather a part of the whole). a simple mineral deficiency can cause this to happen. we can see scripturally a connection between witchcraft - pharmakeia - occultism. we can see that throughout history tribes would use mind altering drugs before going to battle.

we are no different.

we give them now after the battle to make them feel ok about it, or just to make them not feel.

a society being drained of its humanity.

but Christians call this science.

removing God is not prayer alone, but also includes removing God from all those areas of life that He has given order to which we reap in chaos.... just as we see disorder in destroying the family unit, so we see in destroying the strength of our young men by keeping them on ritalin instead of teaching them to know the land and be independent.

there are crazies in every generation. two wrongs do not make us right.

Government run schooling has such a strong hold in America that Christians will barely acknowledge that they have other options....you do not have to send your children to these government schools!

Good point.

Divorce may not be the root problem but it's a big intermediate one for sure.

When watching the news my wife and I are continually appalled at the conspicuous absence of any kind of father figure in most stories we see involving youth-oriented tragedies these days. In almost every case, the mother is found and interviewed and even commiserated with, but the "father" is no where to be seen/heard.

Unprofitable, its moral depravity that would cause a generation to make excuses for their own behavior and then blame it on God.

the world is fallen so its ok to do evil?

man sinned in a cleaner world, so its ok to abuse the body?

this discussion runs much deeper. our generation doesn't want to deal with it.

jpw, although I value you and the insightful posts you add to the SA site, I respectfully disagree with premise of most of this post and the "science" upon which it is based. I bring you back to a time in which there were no factories, no man made chemicals, no modern medicine and people ate what they grew or raised. The atmosphere was a canopy that sheltered the populous from any harmful effects of the sun. People lived for centuries. What was the reason for their destruction and judgment from God. Genesis 6:5 "Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually." Things are no different in our day and age. We suffer the consequences of the fall of man and the wretchedness that is in his heart because of it. Anything else is consequences of not cause of the evils of our day.

we've been drugging our children, putting mercury, aluminum, detergents, etc into their blood. we have a generation of autistic children, and now medicating those who've been chemically lobotomized by neuro distrubers and so give them more pharmakia. I am in no way dismissing the spiritual component of a society that has rejected God..... but rather trying to put light on it.

our answers pull us further and further from God's intention for man to live. even in this broken earth ...

may the nation mourn and turn away from its idols that harm.

how many times have we heard of the fall of rome associated with lead in pipes and foods, the crippling joint pain and erratic behavior that came from this? a people weakened from within.

praying for those who are mourning today. hard to even believe.

Has any one considered that this event could be linked to the use of a Psychotropic drug? Why are so many modern "christians" tolerant of this?

Actually quite a bit, if you are Jewish, Jpost | Print Article: Is abortion in Christianity a mistranslation of the Bible?, which I'm not, but Puritans from what I read agreed with the Jewish idea, but guess what killing children is a heinous crime in the common Judeo-Christian tradition.

No, Mr. Huckabee is only partly correct, as one can almost ascertain even from all the news reports there is a lot of divorce going on, we should be putting Divorce on Trial in general and no-fault divorce in particular.

No matter what your church does, it cannot affect your salvation. Even if voodoo doctors preach from their scrolls you're saved. Salvation is not a function of denomination or preacher.

Well said, both are innocent victims and there is no difference. A good abortion doctor probably murders that many little babies in a single work day or every couple of days. I wonder why Huckabee didn't mention that since he claimed to have a theology degree.

Sorry for this sarcasm, but James Robison's protege, Mr. Huckabee, is simply an ecumenicalist and as far as I'm concerned, nothing says or does will ever register with me. His opinion is meaningless.

Nothing in Scripture points to salvation being denomination dependent. So it isn't.

As long as it isn't defined properly, it doesn't. Even Episcopalians following gay bishops and supporting "gay marriage" think they are Christian.

Even during my darkest days as a juvinile, etc, never once could I ever imagine myself taking a human life. This Guy shot his mother right in the face! Considering that every one of those poor little children died, he must have walked up to each one of them and shot them point blank. I find it difficult to comprehend that even the most troubled, darkest soul could be capable of something so incredibly heinous.
Right now he's thinking hard about what he's done. Right now, he knows that there really is life after death. I don't wish eternal condemnation upon anyone. I wish he would have responded to God's calling.
