Obama Cries, Quotes Scripture in Speech on Conn. School Shooting
President Barack Obama was brought to tears, seeking the help of Scripture when he addressed the country regarding the tragic shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut on Friday morning.
Obama said in the White House press briefing on Friday that during tragedies such as the one which rocked Sandy Hook Elementary School, he reacts as a parent first.
"Our hearts are broken today," Obama told the reporters present, pausing to gather himself and wipe away tears as he spoke.
As Mike commented about the tears not being shed for the precious unborn babies being aborted daily.I agree. The president is strongly funding Planned Parenthood for abortions. So I'm hoping that the speech he gave on those precious children murdered in Newtown, will also apply to the aborted babies as well!
"I’m afraid that the monsters that are all too real miss how monstrous they are, because they so little resemble the monsters on TV. Universe colonizing aliens are not real. Serial killers are exceedingly rare. If we looked at the world through the lens of the Bible we would know how to spot real monsters-they are men who leave their wives and children." -R.C. Sproul Jr., "The Face of Evil," December 12, 2012
Perhaps Adam's father has some soul-searching to do in light of his "We [Adam's stepmother and I] are in a state of disbelief and trying to find whatever answers we can. We too are asking why." comments.

First, let me say we all appreciate your comments. Second, you are correct, you certainly cannot predict or control all the variables. However, in Washington D.C. they have the strictest gun laws and one of the highest murder rates. Most of the massacres lately have been in gun free zones, so that is not working. Also, in response to a Skokie, IL law outlawing guns in their town, the town of Kennesaw, GA made a law that all homeowners must own guns. Crime went down in Kennesaw and up in Skokie. I agree people should be trained and have permits. Just don't think the current system is working. Also, @ Mike, you got that right.
I really should not waste my time commenting but I really question the logic of those who think that having everyone armed will solve our problem. Can u guarantee that the armed civilian is trained, mentally stable, able to use their weapon appropriately to shoot the killer (and not anyone else), is present at the exact location the killer is (could be any movie theatre, mall, parking lot, temple, or school these days)...I could go on about the variables that you can't predict and control.

The killer was denied when he tried to buy a gun, so wasn't a gun control issue. I was told in Israel their teachers are armed and trained how to use them with deadly force. Maybe we should do that here, because obviously gunman pick gun free zones to attack for a reason. Did not see anyone giving the president a hard time for quoting Scripture, so the disrespectful comment about former president Bush seemed out of place @ Jim. I think we should give the president the benefit of any doubt as to whether his tears were genuine.

If you watch that video carefully you can see there are no tears in Obama's eyes or on his cheeks. His voice didn't even tremble as it usually does when one is overcome with emotion. It was all acting - he has no sympathy for the poor children that are murdered in their mothers' wombs daily!
Politicians are usually good actors when the occasion calls. Obama has been 'acting' the part of a Christian for years. His policies demonstrate where his heart really lies.
Junsu -- I sure wish there was someone at the school with a concealed weapon permit, such as now will be allowed in Michigan (it passed yesterday ironically). Since it was a gun free zone, the killer knew he could enter the school unchallenged.
I am relieved by the outcomes when a good citizen steps up and stops someone with mal intentions, verses the tragic alternative.
You might enjoy watching the FOX news clip from Spartenburg County, South Carolina where a Waffle House customer with a concealed weapons permit stopped an armed robbery in progress. The sheriff said that a CWP may save your life.
I wonder how many tears Obama sheds for the children snatched from the womb every day in America and the evil men who do it. And the mother that allow it.
I hope all of u who are commenting on China realize that all those stabbed kids are still alive and in hospital (of course some may still die). Point: with guns u are certain to kill beause guns were invented for that strict purpose. Of course the root problem is sin and the degradation of society but too many would rather sit around and talk about and do nothing. People must chose God; you can't ram it down their throats. That's not The message of the bible. Unfortunately American has allowed many things to perpetuate for far too long such that we may be at a point of no return. What can be done immediately is damage control but sadly, as a country, we cant decide what that should look like
He isn't the only President to quote Scripture, Baby-Face Bush seemed to have done it at times. So, no problem with that, Christians of course have to take such verses as:
Matthew 5 4 "Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.---NASB
The issue is not even guns..but this will bring more reason for gun control. When I say its not the guns it is the evil and wicked in mens hearts that do this..look at the recent incident in China what 22 kids stabbed...no gun ! But yes my heart breaks as all of ours are . I'm a single dad and the thought of losing a child I can't even imagine
"We're going to have to come together and take meaningful action."
Hopefully this means the abolishment of all the religious gatherings called schools that are indoctrination and worship temples for Molech and the religion of Statism.
After watching the news and seeing the young woman walking away from the school in tears without her child I can only say I mourned for her & her loss & the only consolation are the words spoken by The Lord Jesus in Mt 18:10 Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.
We should give the president credit for having sympathy where it is due. But he didn't cry, as anyone who watched it could see.
He said "Each time I learn the news I react not as a president, but as anyone else would -- as a parent."
He also said "We're going to have to come together and take meaningful action."
A shame he was not so caught up in his parental response that he couldn't even wait a day before hinting at more gun control legislation. Instead he chose to stay true to, and took the opportunity to state his political position, disguised as it was within the tragedy.
