Landmark: Sup. Court to consider gay marriage

In a landmark move, the U.S. Supreme Court agreed Friday to take up two cases that could either lead to the legalization of gay marriage nationwide or affirm the rights of legislators and voters to protect traditional marriage.

The court's action Dec. 7 means that sometime next year -- perhaps in March -- the court will hear oral arguments in the cases and hand down a decision by the end of June.

The justices will consider the constitutionality of two laws. One is the federal Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), which defines marriage for federal purposes as being between a man and a woman. The other is California Proposition 8, a voter-approved constitutional amendment which defines marriage as between one man and one woman. ...

I recently read about the alliance of these monotheistic religions on a website that would account for the 'watertight' protection given to them by the beast of the sea. According to Rev. 13:2 its power comes from the dragon. I have been taught the dragon in prophetic Scripture is Satan employing persecution; but his being referred to as a serpent is his employing deception. I have also been taught that the Moral person of the Antichrist of Scripture is a secular imperial world power in alliance with an apostate church and the papacy.

UK's Westminster parliament today stated they are to begin the process of putting quote "same-sex" marriage into law from January next year.

""A Bill allowing same-sex civil and religious marriages for faith groups that choose to conduct them is expected to be introduced in January, with the first gay weddings likely in early 2014.

Jesus answered, Thou couldest have no power at all against me, except it were given thee from above: therefore he that delivered me unto thee hath the greater sin. John 19:11

And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Matthew 28:18

If all power is comes down from above and there is no power but of God. The Father has given all power to the Son, then who has given power to the Supreme Court to rule on God's law? We the people? The creature has power to rule on the Authority of the Creator? That's Blasphemy. Rev.13:1

Very true Kevin
and as the Bible says in agreement with you ...
"Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them. Romans 1:32.

we are already in the end times and supreme courts all over the world have been making decisions against Christ for generations. this is definitely a sign of the times.

on a separate note,

states are still able to nullify that which oversteps their jurisdiction.

We voted about 10 years or so ago to amend the constitution in our commonwealth that a marriage would be between a man and a woman. Thus ending discussion about gay marriage in Ky. If the supreme court rules for gay marriage, one simple challenge to our state constitution will nullify that amendment.

Per SCOTUS finding 'penumbra' in the Constitution (c. 1973) to vivisect 50,000,000 Americans, them finding universal 'liberty' for two men to marry would be a snap. There'll be no surprise at all come June when all 300 million Americans left are required, by the law of the land, to salute same-sex marriage. We saluted emancipation. We saluted sufferage. We saluted abortion on demand. We'll salute SSM. There's no other reasonable outcome.

The majority of the Supreme Court is Catholic, so there is no way to know what they'll decide, just see what a prominent Catholic university here in the U.S., (Omaha, Nebraska) has to say about homosexuality Myths [(?) (!)] about Homosexuality. With the Romish Church you have to remember the Magisterium says in effect, "Do as we say, not do as we do!"[or you'll get arrested at the very least. ], Abuse by priests. So, no, I don't hold out for either law being unheld. The Supreme Court did surprise on Obama Care, so they may give us another surprise on this one.

If the Supreme Court rules on the basis of the Constitution. The 10th amendment would compel them to rule in favor of proposition 8 and give it back to the state of California. DOMA seems more like it is federal law and probably would not stand as it would be deemed discriminatory. The whole issue would then be left to individual states.

The Supreme Court will be making a decision on the Law of God. They will be deciding whether it is right or wrong. May God have mercy on their souls and that of the people of America.

"Matt 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled."

"Lev 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them."

"Lev 18:24 Defile not ye yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out before you: 25 And the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants."

Who, in the recent past, would have believed that any supposedly Bible believing denomination would be looking to champion gay wedding ceremonies in their church? Have they no fear? Really incredible.

I agree with missing link... Yesterday's evening news at NBC referred to this decision as having a similar impact for "gay" marriage as Roe v. Wade did for prenatal child-killing. If our nation doesn't have an explicit standard (God's Word), then it's going to continue it's downgrade into wickedness.

When you found a country on freedom, what's to stop this unholy grab for liberty? If your Christian fouinders didn't bother to even reference the Bible in their Constitution, good luck when your most conservative supreme court justice hunts for why any two may not be married. I've got news for ya. They ain't gonna find it.
