Churches offering concealed-carry weapons training to attract members
In an effort to increase membership, a number of U.S. churches — including the Church of Christ congregation in this rural village 30 miles north of Columbus — are offering an unconventional public service: Concealed weapons training.
“Church has done a good job with coffee klatsches or whatever, but we haven’t really reached out to guys,” said Jeff Copley, a preacher at the church. “And guys in Morrow Country, they shoot and they hunt.”
Hundreds of students have enrolled in the 10-hour course, which meets the state requirements for earning a concealed weapons permit. The training includes two hours on a church member’s private shooting range....

Bravo to the forward-thinking Christian, who put this together. I hope it's a huge success!
Why not? For the same reason that makes all your effeminate programs just as sinful.

In every way? So why not use concealed carry guns to go out into the highways and byways and then produce them to compel them to come to Christ?
Convert or die policies have been used before, and have proven very effective in the history of religion. Consider the North African churches.

Neil, thank you for your comment which I just came upon. Having had a sorrowful day for the most part today, I must admit your comment refreshed me for the satire involved made me laugh.
In my view, your comment which rebukes lack of faith by saved people through a satirical picture that is funny is a very good comment. I know that I at times don't exercise the faith that God commands of me and your comment brought that truth back to my mind.
We'll help you beg permission from the state to exercise your second amendment rights in the hope that you'll choose to exercise you're first amendment rights without government permission at our facility.

But don't think it's only for guys. Women want to be involved, too, so I would hope it would be offered for everyone.
Protecting oneself with concealed carry handguns is becoming more and more important to more and more people. Gun safety, range practice, and even tactical training are very important, whether you ever need to use your weapon or not.

Dont get me wrong.. I love guns. But this is a rural seeker driven alternative to the gospel. What happend to the Great Commission? To go out. These men are not interested in hearing the gospel.. They will be talking about guns. The preacher needs to put down his copy of the " seeker driving church by Rick warren and bill hybel " and start making disciples.
