The Oklahoma City-based company asked the 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals to block enforcement of the law, which will require Hobby Lobby and a sister company, Mardel, Inc., to cover the morning-after pill and week-after pill as part of employee health insurance plans beginning Jan. 1.

Even if Hobby Lobby had part time employees they would still have to pay wages. It would cost less to utilize temp workers from temp agencies because all Hobby Lobby would have to pay is however much the temp agencies charge to use their temp workers. The whole idea is to avoid paying out wages to employees by not having employees on the payroll.

Hobby Lobby would not have to worry about paying health benefits to employees if they would simply not have any employees on the company roster but instead utilize temp workers from temp agencies. That way they would not have any employees on the company roster to pay wages to and benefits to. All they would have to do is pay money to the temp agencies to use their temp workers. It would cost less to just pay the temp agencies money to use their temp workers then to have employees on the roster.
