Church of England rejects women bishops

In a surprise move that shocked both sides of a years-long debate, the Church of England on Tuesday (Nov. 20) rejected an expected move to allow women bishops, preserving the church’s status as one of the last bastions of male privilege in the United Kingdom.

Many of the 470 members of the church’s three-tiered General Synod (bishops, clergy and laity) were stunned that the House of Laity couldn’t garner a two-thirds majority in favor of women bishops. The voted failed by just five votes, 132-74, after easily passing the bishops and clergy. ...

"the Church of England on Tuesday (Nov. 20) rejected an expected move to allow women bishops, preserving the church’s status as one of the last bastions"

What an embarrassing soap opera.

The Church of England is no more Christian and no more Biblical than idolatry and heresy are.

This squabbling of their women for the top job is rediculous ~ BUT it proves how episcopacy is NOT Biblical and all too human a presumption.

In the garden of Eden Eve was in transgression and tempted her husband. The original sin.

1Tim 2:13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve.
14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.

Punishment of woman.
Gen 3:16 Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.

"he shall rule over thee" is ordained by God.
No woman will be used by God in the pulpit.

Is it happenstance that the female bishop quoted in the article is in favor of gay marriage?

AB Williams said in his sour grapes speech today "the church's governing body appear "willfully blind".
WOW, the light has finally shawn in the dark recesses of AB William`s mind but why limit it to the "church's governing body" when they all deserve a white stick.

'...the State Church, which the great reformers had planted, and which some of them had watered with their blood, presented the spectacle which went far to justify the sarcasm of an eminent writer, that she possessed "A Popish Liturgy, a Calvinistic Creed, and an Arminian Clergy."'-- from, The Down Grade

This apostate church may have had Christians in it through the years, but it was never Christian. It can be seen that its leaders are most assuredly not Christian. How Women Are to Learn.

1 Timothy 2
11 Let a woman quietly receive instruction with entire submissiveness.
12 But I do not allow a woman to teach or exercise authority over a man, but to remain quiet.
13 For it was Adam who was first created, and then Eve.
14 And it was not Adam who was deceived, but the woman being quite deceived, fell into transgression.---NASB

Hundreds of thousands rally against gay ‘marriage’ in France

A nationwide rally drew an estimated 200,000 protesters in Paris

BY THADDEUS BAKLINSKI

"Marseille police said they used tear gas against counter-demonstrators who unfurled a banner that read, “Your model of society is dead, welcome to Sodom and Gomorrha,” and hurled insults at the traditional marriage demonstrators.

"The French Catholic Bishops have led the fight against the proposed legislation, with the cardinal archbishop of Paris saying same-sex “marriage” would harm the equilibrium of French society and of children. “It will not be ‘marriage for all’,” said Cardinal Andre Vingt-Trois, citing the government’s slogan, “it will be the marriage of a few imposed on all.”

"The weekend’s marchers were encouraged by the words of Pope Benedict XVI, who called on French bishops visiting him in the Vatican to oppose the proposed legislation, saying, “the Church’s voice must make itself heard relentlessly and with determination.”

I wonder how many people will be confused by a heretical church voting in the right direction? My guess is that mostly heretics attend this church anyway, so it will not impact the body of Christ. It would be the same as the Catholics voting against gay marriage and things like that. Their decision will only confuse, disappoint or inspire those who are "likely" lost anyway.
