Santa Monica may bar Nativity scenes in public areas, judge rules
Santa Monica may bar Nativity and other seasonal displays in public spaces, a federal judge tentatively ruled Monday.
In a case that has drawn national attention, Judge Audrey B. Collins of U.S. District Court in Los Angeles denied a church coalition's request that the court require the city to allow Nativity scenes to be displayed in Palisades Park this year, as it has for nearly 60 years.
"The atheists won on this," said William J. Becker Jr., an attorney for the Santa Monica Nativity Scenes Committee, a coalition of 13 churches and the Santa Monica Police Officers Assn. Standing in front of TV news cameras outside the Edward R. Roybal Federal Building, Becker predicted that the court on Dec. 3 would also grant the city's request that his group's lawsuit be dismissed....
Sir Francis Newport, the head of an English Atheist club to those gathered around his deathbed:
"You need not tell me there is no God for I know there is one, and that I am in His presence! You need not tell me there is no hell. I feel myself already slipping. Wretches, cease your idle talk about there being hope for me! I know I am lost forever! Oh, that fire! Oh, the insufferable pangs of hell! …Oh, that I could lie for a thousand years upon the fire that is never quenched, to purchase the favor of God and be united to H im again. But it is a fruitless wish. Millions and millions of years will bring me no nearer the end of my torments than one poor hour.
Oh, eternity, eternity forever and forever!, Oh, the insufferable pangs of Hell!”
Thomas Payne the leading atheistic writer in American colonies: "Stay with me, for God's sake; I cannot bear to be left alone , O Lord, help me! O God, what have I done to suffer so much? What will become of me hereafter? "I would give worlds if I had them, that The Age of Reason had never been published. 0 Lord, help me! Christ, help me! …No, don't leave; stay with me! Send even a child to stay with me; for I am on the edge of Hell here alone. If ever the Devil had an agent, I have been that one."
How many atheists will cry all night and ask for forgiveness
I would go even further and say that the composition and propagation of those ridiculous ChristMass carols has an agenda not Christian. Instead of delaring the glorious Incarnation of our God and Saviour, they tend more to a soppy and sentimental portrayal of the birth as a fairytale which even nonbelievers/ecumenists can enjoy and re-enact.
ChristMass is unbiblical,it is a pagan feast day that has nothing to do with biblical christianity.followers of the Lord Jesus Christ celebrate the Lords Day.
Good! Too many people are in love with the 'baby in the cradle' not the Christ! That which lies in the cradle is another god, He is no longer lying in a manger, He has risen from the dead and He is Lord! Aren't we forbidden in scripture against making any likeness of God! How soon do we forget! Do we really need a reason to adore plastic, which supposes to remind us of His birth? Read the Bible and adore the real Savior!

I think I agree with Rufus on this. In my area there was a 40 ft. Jesus at a church that was struck by lightening. That church didn't concentrate on anything for the last year until that statue was replaced with a 52 ft. version. The media called it 'touchdown Jesus'. I'm not so sure that people aren't worshiping these images!!! Hope not. My question is, with all my brothers and sisters on SA and the ones I hang out with at church and at work, how can there be so many interpretations of God's word? We all can't be right!

No worries, mate! When Sharia becomes the law of the land, Catholic kitsch (Nativity, crucifix, statue, bible) and anyone possessing them will be torn asunder. Problem solved.
