Illinois Activists See Momentum for Same-Sex Marriage Bill

With voters in four states handing their support to the legalization of same-sex marriage, homosexual activists in Illinois think it might be a good time to further the normalization of their lifestyle in the Land of Lincoln. Maine, Maryland, and Washington State all passed referendums in support of gay marriage, and voters in Minnesota defeated a ballot initiative for a state constitutional amendment that would have defined marriage as only between a man and a woman. In 2010, openly homosexual Illinois State Representative Greg Harris helped push through the Religious Freedom Protection and Civil Union Act, which legalized same-sex civil unions, and plans to move on the legalization of full-blown homosexual marriage.

In a post-election interview with Crain's Chicago Business, Harris said that passing a gay marriage law in Illinois “is something we should be doing.... The climate has changed in a ...

One might say he described & practiced the psychological version of Adam Smith's "Invisible Hand."
This is why it is VITAL in debate & discourse to expose propaganda words by insisting on precise definitions of terms, according to classical principles of logic & debate. Logic is the best antidote to propaganda.
Words do have meaning. I never had any formal teaching in logic, but still able somewhat to "smell" propaganda. It always baffled how TV commercials can supposedly sell a product, when most of them are ridiculous, and have little to do with the product.

Great post Neil! I have studied Edward Bernays before and he certainly understood how to market evil! Thank God he/they don't understand my thought processes!

I think you missed it. You mention exegesis, but I didn't see any exegesis on your site. Just a bunch wild speculation. I think I'll stick with the literal hermeneutic thanks.

what is moving forward is the NWO on the backs of the immorality of sodomites who are being spiritually used to breakdown the family and society, creating absolute dependence on babylon.

Christ forgives and redeems. this system is showing its ugly head for what it is. a few minutes of flying a pretty flag in the air cannot distinguish what the Creator has taught us about life, purity and eternal life.

consensus or power does not equal righteousness or truth.

Illinois--a hotbed of liberals if I ever saw one, due to the presence of Chicago, long-time Democrat machine HQ. So I am not surprised at this measure.
Logic, however, applies: why is everyone making such a big issue about homosexuals getting married, when they make up less than 5 percent of the population? There are more colorblind people around than that, and I see no movement to change traffic light colors.,

Many targets,
I'm sorry that you only have limited resources. I was under the impression that our God owned the cattle on a thousand hills.
We are not called to worry about such things. Our job is to continue to press on toward the goal. We must fight the fight of faith and leave the results up to God. I for one do not intend to get to the end of my course and have to explain to God that I just gave up on some of His word because it seemed that the odds were insurmountable. Don't you think it better to say with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego- "If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the furnace of blazing fire; and He will deliver us out of your hand, O king. But even if He does not, let it be known to you, O king, that we are not going to serve your gods or worship the golden image that you have set up." (Daniel 3:17, 18 NASB)

I disagree Reality. We should never abandon the fight for what is right just because things look grim. Based on that logic, if there was more support for abortion than against, we should just give up the fight and let the children be murdered. I think we can look to Hebrews here where the author said "For consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. You have not yet resisted to the point of shedding blood in your striving against sin; (Hebrews 12:3, 4 NASB)
We must endure and continue to resist sin wherever we find it. This is our hour. We were placed in this time by the sovereign hand of God for such a time as this.

Gay Marriage and the Future
By Denny Burk on November 16, 2012 in Christianity, Politics

Two articles on gay marriage have appeared recently that you need to take note of if you haven’t already. Both of them are written by men who believe in traditional marriage in the same way that I do. Yet both of them are suggesting that social conservatives can no longer stand against gay marriage as a matter of public policy. They are not saying that social conservatives shouldn’t stand their ground. The are saying that social conservatives can’t stand their ground. There simply isn’t a viable political coalition to make it happen. Legal gay marriage in all 50 states is inevitable at this point, and so social conservatives need to reconsider how to move forward.

SSM opponents would do well to abandon the fight against SSM, and instead focus on the threat SSM poses to religious liberty — this, while there is still the prospect of energizing a majority of people to protect religious liberty.
