Atheists Ask Obama to Ditch 'So Help Me God,' Bible in Presidential Oath
President Barack Obama will be taking the oath of office for the second time on Jan. 21, 2013. And atheists want him to do so without mentioning "God" and without a Bible.
The Freedom From Religion Foundation sent Obama a letter following his re-election, asking him to reject the way "this country politicizes religion."
"When you stand to reaffirm your oath, do so using the language of the Founders. Eliminate the religious verbiage. While you're at it, why not place your hand on the Constitution instead of a bible?" FFRF attorney Andrew L. Seidel wrote in the letter....

According to God these people are altogether filthy fools ...

Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good. 2 God looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God. 3 Every one of them is gone back: they are altogether become filthy; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
@Marbeth Joy from Thailand: What a horrible thing to say. I continue to become sickened by the comments I read on this site, however I do not hold sermon audio.com responsible. God is sovereign and we are being judged as a nation, however the redeemed continue to press in, though they are much less than are proffessing, God will accomplish that which he has purposed through those who are faithful to his word. I know the same spirit that strengthens us through resistance and purifies us through affliction will continue to humble the hearts of men and bring a brokeness that glorifies the Lord. This will never result in laughter over the situations others face, quite the opposite. I will pray you Maybeth in the hope that you will be a slave to the Lords will in your life and that you will grieve over the misfortunes of others and rejoice that our God allows the good and bad times to "try by fire" a A.W Pink would say. The founding fathers of America proffered no religious litmus test and yet God says that if we have any other god before Him then we are worshipping a false god, i.e. Satan. When the president takes the oath of office, he is swearing to support this pluralistic/ecumenical concept and they are using our Lord’s name in vain to do that. Now we all realize that Obama isn’t a Christian; that doesn’t even enter the realm of doubt, so the last thing I would want to hear is him making a false oath using the name of my Lord and King. This controversy is simply a continuation of this "kingdom now" stuff that I am so hung up about. They are satisfied if our country and its leaders sound and look like they believe instead of actually believing. It is Roman Catholicism repackaged for evangelicals. RC simply wants someone to go through their rituals, put their faith and trust in the church instead of in Christ alone and “say” they belong to the RCC.
I'm Asian and been watching and hearing all these fuss since campaign period. All I can conclude now is that America is really getting out of hand. You have lost so much respect on God and His Word. *tsk... tsk... tsk.. tsk... There will come a time when real Christians persecuted from non-Christian countries will look at you and laugh at your folly.
