Obama to Accompany Baby Jesus & Wise Men in Italian Nativity Scenes (Yes, Really)

President Barack Obama, riding on the heels of his historic electoral victory this week, has another accomplishment to boot: He will be included, as a character, in traditional Italian nativity scenes in Naples this Christmas. No, we’re not joking.

The president is poised, in figurine form, to appear next to baby Jesus, other Biblical characters and numerous other politicians who are being infused into the traditional holiday story.

As noted, Obama isn’t the only contemporary figure created for inclusion in nativities. According to Euronews, Mitt Romney is also a newfound nativity character.

While one of the Obama designs comes complete with a crown, a depiction of the former Republican candidate comes with tears streaming down his face (i.e. a reaction to his electoral loss). KSEE-TV explains the fascinating development in detail: ...

Just another idol added to the popish pagan holiday of ChristMass.
Celebrating the Birth of the Lord Jesus Christ is not pagan. It is totally scriptural to celebrate the Birth of the Lord Jesus Christ as it states in the Bible that the Wise Men came to pay homage and worship the newborn King of the Jews. Celebrating Christmas in a totally secular manner is pagan. But I only celebrate Christmas in the biblical way by celebrating the Birth of the Lord Jesus Christ. Even though the Lord Jesus was not born on 25 December there is nothing unscriptural about celebrating His Birth on 25 December.

Bathwatergate, It is not a violation of the 2nd Commandment against idolatry to own statues of Jesus, the Virgin Mary and the Saints if someone does not pray to or bow down to the statues. Idolatry is praying to and bowing down to statues.

Christopher000, Well I find it disturbing that they would include statues of Obama and Romney in the nativity scene. A nativity scene is supposed to depict the scene at the stable when Jesus was born. And thus it is unscriptural to include statues of Obama and Romney in the nativity scene because Jesus, the Virgin Mary, Saint Joseph and the Wise Men were the only individuals present at the stable.

So-called Christians,

Please note that it is the depiction of the image of God the Son that is the evil here, and the violation of God's word. (Yes, really).

You need to throw out the baby.

This is so disturbing. Just one more example of how far mankind has fallen. Not only because of something so disturbing even being dreamed up, but the lack of any outcry in disgust.

Well, O'Bozo is definitely Santa Clause for some of the people who voted him a second term, but he's definitely not Jesus.

STOP!
It will NOT be a funny day for a single unrepentant sinner who is there, AND ought to be a wonderfully sobering day for each of us who would have been there except God saved us from our sins in and with the shed blood of the Holy Sinless Lamb of God, the Lord Jesus Christ.
AND may it be like the Wise Men who came with gifts to worship the One born King of the Jews, we likewise as we walk through life in this present time that we travel that narrow and difficult way that leads certainly to life presenting our bodies living sacrifices holy and acceptable to God to ultimately be laid at His feet with eternal everlasting thanksgiving to Him for saving us.
Amen to that Michael
