CNN religion blogger attacks Christian Conservatives for supporting Romney
Remember the good ol' days when folks in the media were fond of telling us that conservative evangelical Christians would exhibit anti-Mormon bigotry and fail to vote for Mitt Romney simply because of his religion?
Well now that conservative evangelical Christians seem by-and-large on board with the Romney/Ryan ticket liberal CNN Belief Blog contributor Stephen Prothero has turned the tables and criticized conservative evangelical leaders with, essentially, denying their faith by being pro-Romney. From his November 1 post, "My Take: Billy Graham and Ralph Reed are putting politics before God" (emphases mine): Why are evangelicals like Billy Graham and Ralph Reed stumping for Mitt Romney? And why are roughly three-quarters of white evangelicals inclined to vote for him? Because politics matters more to them than religion....
Under the illogic of those who are saying that a vote for Romney is a vote for Mormonism, we will say then a vote for Barak Obama is a vote for black liberation theology. Black theology refuses to accept a God who is not identified totally with the goals of the black community. If God is not for us and against white people, then he is a murderer, and we had better kill him. The task of black theology is to kill gods who do not belong to the black community
… Black theology will accept only the love of God which participates in the destruction of the white enemy. What we need is the divine love as expressed in Black Power, which is the power of black people to destroy their oppressors here and now by any means at their disposal. Unless God is participating in this holy activity, we must reject his love. Your support of Obama is the endorsement of all of the above because that is what his church of 20 years taught him.

Many have been deceived during this election cycle and no matter who wins, I hope they realize this and repent. It is clear that judgment has come to our door when God gives us the choice between a Marxist and a Mormon and people ask for the Mormon to save them from the Marxist. Some Christians have forgot that we do not think like the world and our logic is not the same as the world....
I agreed with what you said about, Should Christians Support a Mormon Running for President?. Romney is like quicksilver, Romney is for Romney, and the Mormon Church. But then there are way more issues than just the two you mentioned. 1 Corinthians 6:9-10. (Republicans always forget verse 10!) Christians have a higher calling than to be animadverts They are to put people on The Roman Road[/UR
you are left defending a man who brought to our nation: same sex marrige, forced healthcare that pays for abortion and leftist judges, defense of TARPA and NDAA's right for the pres to detain am citizens without trial.
enjoy your "conservative" Caesar.
Its a mute point, as Tater has alluded to. Choices were made long before this day. God did give us another way. We wanted a pres who will continue the perpetual adventures, and either way, we will get them. (see today's article on increased persecution of Christians)

Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's. Since this is put forth rightly or wrongly from time to time, consider this: It isn't only about pocket change. The election is about Caesar. If you don't vote you are not rendering to Caesar. See how easy?
PS nobody I know of has been scared by evangelical leaders. Abomination pushers, perhaps.
Can we not see how far we have fallen when we make every excuse possible to convince other Christians that it is ok to vote for a Mormon with a clear record of deception and a clear record of support of the issues we are trying to fight (abortion & homosexuality)? Some Christians have forgot that we do not think like the world and our logic is not the same as the world. We should not follow after the world to vote for Romney but vote for a candadite according to sound biblical principle even if they can't win.
The deception of evangelicals is evident. When a highly esteemed pastor such as Billy Graham can compromise the clear teaching of the Bible concerning false gods for political gains and evangelicals can look the other way, then you know deception has come. People get the words evangelical and Christian mixed up. They even confuse evangelical for The Body of Christ. Evangelical is just a political word used to identify a certain voting block. It is clear that evangelicals have come in unaware and deceived many by placing politics before Christ. By placing abortion and homosexuality before Christ. It's a shame that some Christians have been deceived and followed after these so called "believers" (evangelical leaders) and placed the issues ahead of Jesus.
With two days before the election it is clear that evangelicals have chose their side. And there our only two sides. Jesus said you are either for me or against me. These evangelical leaders have scared people and intimidated people with their voting retoric saying things like vote for the lesser of two evils, if you don't vote then you are the cause of the problem, if you don't vote then you reflect President Obama, you are not voting for a preacher, you are wasting a vote on a third party candadite, etc. What is said is
I read the article about Stephen Prothero at CNN yesterday and am dismayed at the Faux News spin and focus on it. I agreed with much of what Mr. Prothero said. I recommend you read it at CNN without the Faux News influence. PS "Way of Death" sounds rather creepy... Why not focus on Jesus Christ, the Only Way to the Father?
See, the Devil wants us to not vote for Romney. He'll use every trick in the book to get Obama into office, even if it means that we appeal to our uber sense of piety.
