‘Tis the season for voting guides…the season we greet one another with “Who are you voting for?” With the air wafting with political cheer and punditry and our churches buzzing with candidate conversations, let’s not forget the weighty significance of our role as individuals and as a church in this matter. In November, the American people are called upon once again to elect one of the most powerful political leaders in the free world. The next President of the United States will help shape the economic, foreign, domestic, and military policy of our nation for the next four years. He will command the United States military as commander in chief; he will execute the laws passed by Congress; and he will appoint judges to maintain liberty and uphold justice. The decisions that he makes may have far reaching implications, not only for our nation, but also for the entire world. Thus, it is no small matter...
UPS, you really got to stop listening to Republican sound bites and get more details! 11 Myths About Health Care Reform. So, no, the only way seniors would loose health benefits if the Anti-Robin Hood and his merry men a.k.a. Romney/Ryan get in an rob the poor and give to the rich.
Of course the banks or main creditors would have been paid off first and then stockholders. Saving the GM and Chrysler was a brilliant idea. No, one would have benefited if they went under.

I remember Rum announcing in 2001 that 2 trillion was missing from DOD budget. 2,000,000,000,000 Forbes Magazine, online, 9/20/11 "The Fed's 16 Trillion Bailouts Underreported" according to GAO audit. sure, 10-15 trillion is bigger than 3-5 trillion, and what's next qaziollion? this is madness. pure, utter madness.
It would do well to research the 2 trillion missing from DOD. It has already been debunked as an urban legend and diliberat distortion.

There wasn't 16T in bailouts. But there is a lot of vote-buying in it.
The messups being bipartisan is irrelevant to Jim's position of supporting Obama based on 1Cor6:10
Obama and his supporters, whichever party, is responsible for the biggest single increase in the debt. And he isn't done yet. Can you understand that he is doing it on purpose? Do you understand the reason?

You would think after a post from awhile back about logical fallacies, that Jim would not keep using a false syllogism about alleged republican corruption and trying to tie it to Romney. You want to speak about crooks, how about a guy who steals $760 billion from a program designed to help the poor and elderly (we call it medicare) to fund a huge tax increase (that is what the Supreme Court called to give it constitutionality) on the American people. How about a president who stole money from the investors (we call them stockholders) of GM and gave it to the unions. How about the president who robs people of their wages in Louisiana by not allowing them to go back to work drilling for oil (after the oil spill) despite an order by a federal judge. By the way, that was trickle down robbery as it negatively impacted many other businesses in the area. Looks like you need to heed the excellent advice from Mike from New York.

Kind of leaves you in a bind, Jim.I guess you won't be voting for the president. Someone who steals the future of children and grandchildren, and via inflationary spending reduces everyones savings, is a thief. Someone who desires power to such an extent that he disobeys the court, makes his own laws, is covetous. Someone who defrauds the people of their choices by way of a con game of promises is a swindler.
I agree with you, it's a good idea to pay attention to v10.

Of course we do need to get rid of the swindlers in politics, q.v., A Culture of Corruption.
I will definitely be paying attention to verse 10!
The Bible specifically speaks on homosexuality and abortion. In fact, it is an excellent reference on how as Christians, we should conduct ourselves. Therefore, we can absolutely go to the Bible as the best guide for voting. It is extremely clear on the major issues!!
Gil Rugh said or, wrote: As believers there are areas of our lives the Bible does not give us specific instructions to do or not do. Individually we have the responsibility to decide whether to do something, use something or in some way associate with certain things. What should we consider so as to make the most God-pleasing choices? The instruction in these verses challenge us to examine how are choice might influence or impact others. Will it edify them or be a stumbling block to them? Simply - what is the best for others? Such should heavily influence our decisions in areas that we are not specifically told to do or not do in God's Word.
