Christian who refused to let gay couple stay at B&B ordered to pay damages
The Christian owner of a bed and breakfast has been ordered to pay damages after a court found her refusal to let a gay couple stay in one of her double rooms amounted to direct discrimination and a breach of equality law.

Michael Black and John Morgan brought a civil case against Susanne Wilkinson, who owns the Swiss Bed and Breakfast in Cookham, Berkshire, after they were refused accommodation at the premises in March 2010 despite having made a reservation and paid a deposit.

In a verdict delivered on Thursday by recorder Claire Moulder at Reading county court, Wilkinson was ordered to pay £3,600 in damages to the couple, who said they were shocked and embarrassed and felt "like lepers" after being told they were not welcome at the B&B because their same-sex relationship was against the owner's convictions. ...

Many of you would have appreciated my pastor's sermon, which dealt quite explicitly with queer behavior, and how The Bible Says Homosexuality is Sin (to refer to an earlier sermon).

If this B&B is in a person's actual home, at least the laws in Nebraska and perhaps in the rest of the U.S. the owners can refuse lodging to anyone they choose. If it is a free standing rental then they can't. So called queer rights probably make it impossible to reject renting a house or an apartment to queers.

John as far as sodomite is concerned perhaps this might help as well, Pathophysiology of Male Homosexuality (Ahem it is rated "M")

Dixon of Dock Green, you are quite correct! The law kills, the grace of God makes alive. Too much "preaching" nowadays concerns itself with only the good news, and what God can do for YOU?

Holy Ghost preaching brings conviction of sin and a humbling before God, which results in a poor lost sinner crying out, "God be merciful to me, a sinner."

You may well be right. But the sinners who come in contact with me, and who engage in conversation about "gays", soon come to understand the expression "sodomite", and where it comes from. I believe it is helpful to explain to sinners what the wrath of God is like, and why he has got wrath in the first place.

Sometimes, a famine of the word of God is due simply to us being lazy when it comes to holding forth the words of life.

I encourage all true believers to pass on Bible texts to their "neighbours". Give away a gospel of John, a tract, put up a Bible Poster, send a Bible calendar, talk to people about the most important issue in life - the soul.

Correct! It is time for all believers to put "political correctness" in the bin. The biblical word "sodomite" is surely the best possible word, as it reminds men and women of the fierce wrath of God towards offenders of this sort, that The Fire should come earlier than expected.

Perhaps the end times are closer than we think and Satan now has the upper hand in the UK. Amos 8:11 "Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:"
This famine of the Word may be established, by God, in the UK today and without the Gospel, ignorance overtakes the nation and iniquity will destroy the people, society and their institutions.

Matt 24:12 "And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold."

Mark M, I understand and appreciate the frustration, but calling these people names is not going to solve anything. I feel you would be better off praying for them rather than using those types of terms to describe people who practice homosexuality.
"Queer Nation" was organized by homosexuals. If they aren't offended by the word, why should anyone else be?

I would have large signs around the place stating: "This Business Supports Christian Values andTraditional
Marriage"

I like this idea. Although, in today's apostate world, I have to wonder if it would bring a business to its financial ruin. Either way, I like the idea and would deal with any repercussions rather than deny my responsibilities.

One of the worst parts to all this 'morals of the sodomite' philosophy of modern liberal UK is that the national church is just as corrupt as the reprobate. The CofE policy is ditch Scripture and keep the sin. Or as Paul puts it, "Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them." Rom 1:32. Thus condemned is the UK's national church.

People have no backbone or pride anymore. If someone makes it clear that they didn't want me around, I'd go and spend my money elsewhere. If I owned the B&B I would have large signs around the place stating: "This Business Supports Christian Values and Traditional Marriage". Then with any luck the queers will boycott his business on their own accord. It worked for Chic-Fil-A.

The "justice" system of Britain is in direct violation of God's law.

Romans chapter one illustrates that this action brings Britain under the wrath of God.

Britain now discriminates against Christianity and the law of God.

Vengeance is mine states the Lord.

Romans 12:19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.
