What’s a Christian business owner supposed to do?
My parents founded Tyndale House Publishers 50 years ago as a Christian publishing company. From the very beginning we have published Bibles, and we also publish a wide range of other Christian books. If such a situation arose, I hoped I would have the backbone to stand tall and disobey the government mandate. Well, that day seems to have come.

The Obama administration’s new healthcare legislation is exceedingly complex. One aspect of the complexity is that hundreds of details have to be worked out by one or more departments of the executive branch. ...

A business owner can always abandon coverage & pay the annual fine. Shepherd of the Hills Church (in Porter Ranch, CA) is doing this & eliminating healthcare benefits for their staff (including my nephew), just as Obamacare critics predicted. They avoid having to lay off anyone this way.

First of all he can take the issue to court.

He does have to follow:

Titus 3:1 Remind them to be subject to rulers, to authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good deed,
2 to malign no one, to be uncontentious, gentle, showing every consideration for all men.---NASB

If he should loose in court, he can make up his mind if to keep the business open or close it.

It has to be remembered that our tax money goes to many things we disapprove of, so it is up to the individual where to draw the line, and impoverish himself, if need be, if he thinks he is disobeying God's Word.
