For more than a decade now -- 14 years to be exact -- supporters of gay marriage have longed for that breakthrough win at the state level, where citizens go to the polls, and in the privacy of the voting booth actually endorse marriage for same-sex couples.
But it has never happened -- not in 1998 when nearly 70 percent of voters in Alaska and Hawaii affirmed traditional marriage, not in 2004 (Oregon) or 2006 (Wisconsin) when two left-leaning states did the same, and not since. Precisely 32 of 32 states that have put the issue on the ballot have voted to uphold marriage as between a man and a woman.
That streak appears to be in serious jeopardy. On Nov. 6, voters in three states -- Maryland, Maine and Washington -- will decide whether to legalize gay marriage. A fourth state, Minnesota, will have a marriage amendment on the ballot to define marriage as between a man and a woman. All four states...
Not only is marriage between a woman and a man, but its styles God,'s bride the church. There is no one that can agree with same sex marriage and understands that Jesus is our propitiation. Without Christ we are guilty and doom for hell. This is a spiritual attack against Jesus only. I pray that this subject will stir all black and white pastors to strive as one and behold truth.
Cliff, the queer plague has seem to have hit the United States, Great Britain, and Australia at the same time. I see the PM of Australia has backed off pushing the queer agenda.
Jim, what I find appalling is the need to fight a battle to reaffirm a marriage is between a man & a woman against the homosexual (sodomite) onslaught supported by corrupt & Godless Governments. Ro 1:32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
Cliff would the word, "queer," be a good replacement for gay?
These states need an amendment like Nebraska which has past court tests:
"Only marriage between a man and a woman shall be valid or recognized in Nebraska. The uniting of two persons of the same sex in a civil union, domestic partnership or other similar same-sex relationship shall not be valid or recognized in Nebraska."
In my humble opinion every Christian should have a guard on their tongue & call this perversion homosexuality which it is & ban the word "gay" which attempts to make attractive a vile, filthy & unclean Sin.
In the long term by the vile obsession of the sodomites and the Liberals, it looks like the anti-Christian bias in politics and bureaucracy we are experiencing in western countries is trying to bury Christianity and the Bible.
Satan is obviously pushing this one as far and as fast as he can in western society.
Remember Eph 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
