Jack Schaap of First Baptist Hammond Facing 10 Years in Prison for Teen Affair
Jack Schaap, former pastor of First Baptist Church of Hammond in Indiana, has signed a plea agreement in the U.S. District Court in Hammond admitting his relationship with a young woman when she was just 16. Schaap was charged with inappropriate behavior and taking a minor across state lines for the purpose of sex, and may be facing up to 10 years in prison.

"I have agreed, as set forth in a separate filing with the Court, to wave my right to Indictment by a federal Grand Jury with respect to the charge of transporting a minor with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity and to plead guilty to that charge," reads Schaap's plea agreement in court documents obtained by The Christian Post.

The court document also states that the expected sentence for such a crime could be up to 120 months, or 10 years incarceration. ...

TAPS, unlike your (or Tony Cisneros)most people don't care a thing about Chicago politics, though I pay attention to it, since I know people who live near there. Also we know that people in the Hammond/Chicago area, have a good church to go to, Christian Fellowship Church, who don't follow the poor practice of Red Hot Preaching So, they can avoid such places as Jack Schaap's former church.

No, tithing is not required by a Christian, he can give less or more (notice I said "more,") depending on his circumstances.

Gil Rugh said or, wrote:

Not to be concerned, Christopher.

TAPS seems to think there is a biblical precedent in Lev 27:30 to claim that 90% of Vatican priests are pedophiles. What he fails to consider is by that standard, 10% of all Vatican priests must belong to God.

Besides that, the statute was instituted to provide for the maintenance of God's house and the living of the Levitical priesthood who, under the first covenant, had no inheritance in the land God gave to Israel.

Of course, Christians who have been redeemed from the curse of the law are now under a new covenant and Christ's priesthood after the order of Melchisedec.

With that kind of hermeneutic someone could make a compelling case that 90% of the moon consists of cream cheese.

Perhaps you mean wrong from the Dispy perspective.

However, the bible teaches that the first resurrection (Rev 20:5-6) of souls (Remember: "The soul that sinneth, it shall die" and "Ye hath He quickened who were dead in trespass and sin"? The souls of the lost sheep are quickened.) began in Paul's day while the second resurrection of the purchased possession (our mortal bodies) will take place at the second resurrection.

Does the lake of fire, aka the second death, have any power over you? Are you a priest of God and of Christ? These things were not prior to the first resurrection.

Paul spoke of a resurrection: Act 24:15 And have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust.

Now if one is both dead and just, it must be concluded that his/her soul had been quickened while they lived. That said, which resurrection is Paul speaking of?

This is just a sample of a host of reasons why I can't buy into either the pre-trib rapture myth or dispensationalism.

1 Corinthians 15
51 Behold, I tell you a mystery; we shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed.
53 For this perishable must put on the imperishable, and this mortal must put on immortality.---NASB

Gentlemen, I would put forth that the following sermon would help you understand, Pre- Vs Post Tribulational Rapture. A some purely written responses would be, Defending The Pre-trib Rapture or ESCHATOLOGY--Different Rapture Views.

Yes, the some of the leaders of the Reformed movement have gotten things wrong because they didn't get rid of their Catholics, few Baptists hold with Luther's view on baptism, q.v., Martin Luther's Sacramental Gospel. The question we have to ask ourselves is it Biblical or Catholic?--no matter whose view it is.

1.Rev 20:11,14
And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away: and there was found no place fore him.
And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
2.And I stand corrected about saying that you said after the great white throne judgement, but you are still saying that we get judged at the White throne judgement which is wrong, we got our own judgement; the Judgement seat of Christ, their not the same.
3. Russ if you are talking about the RCI church fathers,Yes I say they were liars. But if the true church leaders(not fathers) you are talking about could you show me where I was wrong.

I wish I could sit down with you and actually discuss this. I think that when you hold to your own pet theory of eschatology as dogma then you are making a mistake. You would do well not to confuse rightly dividing the word with saying that your interpretation of end times is THE way that it is going to go down. The historical premillennial position held by the church was not the Pre trib rapture position. Essentially you are saying that many centuries of Godly men are not rightly dividing the Word. Could I not make the same statement to you? On top of that I have probably been studying this issue longer than you have been alive, which is not me saying that I have got it all figured out, but rather me attempting to tell you that as you mature in the faith it is quite possible that you will come to a different understanding than you have now.
Amen Russ,
The catch is that the Pre Trib/Pre Mil position REQUIRES adherents to incorporate that dispensational dogma into their Statements of Beliefs. Thats the only way they can REMOVE Scripture they believe applies only to other dispensations. Otherwise the ignored Scripture would falsify their Church Age dogma

Did I say the rapture was "after" the great white throne judgment?

And perhaps you want to show me the text which explicitly states or even implies that the heaven and earth will be burned up "before" the great white throne judgment.

Here something I got to put in with that, the same verses you would use to prove the church is going thou the tribultion are most of the time the same verses use to prove the Armiran falsehood of loing salvation. (that is if your reading a KJV of course)

1) Do you make it a habit of calling someone nearly 50 years your senior a "fool"? Who taught you this is acceptable Christian behavior?

I find little agreement with Jim and I'd guess he and I are about the same age. But in spite of our many differences I believe he is a brother in Christ and deserves to be treated as such..... not for his sake alone but for God's who loved him with an everlasting love. Think about it.

2) I use the KJV and find no such thing as a pre-trib rapture. Paul's rapture verse comes to pass at the great white throne judgment, i.e. "the last day" aka the day of the Lord. You, and others, have bought into this myth because you heeded the teachings of fallible men. Fortunately, to get eschatology wrong won't keep your name from the book of life.

KJVonly I assure you my rejection of the Pre-trib rapture has nothing to do with my ability to read and understand the KJV. I have come to that opinion through a thorough study of the Scriptures both Old and New Testaments. I'm not an Arminian nor do I think we can lose our salvation. The difference between you and I is that I am not a dispensationalist. I don't think there are two separate peoples of God nor do I think there are two separate paths to salvation.

The conversation did seem to drift of the topic of Mr. Schaap, and even more importantly the whole atmosphere that surrounds (I might hope one could say that in the past tense!) his former church. In case there are some members of his church getting ready to go there this morning why not give up on Red Hot Preaching and give a Bible believing church in Hammond a try, Christian Fellowship Church You will get cool-headed preaching as in:

2 Timothy 4:1 I solemnly charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by His appearing and His kingdom:
2 preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction.
3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires;
4 and will turn away their ears from the truth, and will turn aside to myths.
5 But you, be sober in all things, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.---NASB

THE CHICAGO SUN-TIMES Reported On "First Baptist founder Jack Hyles"--YET THE REAL FOUNDER IS ALMIGHTY GOD In The 19th Century:

"First Baptist Church was founded in November 1887 by Allen Hill of Jennings County, Indiana.

Its first meeting was on November 14, 1887 with 12 members on the 28th.

However, it originally met in the Morton House Hotel which stood on what is currently the 100 block of Willow Court.

Allen Hill's pastorate was short lived at approximately 4 months.

By April 1888, B.P. Hewitt became the church's permanent pastor and Allen Hill went on to start several other churches.

Needing more room, Hewitt moved the church's meeting place to the Hohman Opera House at the corner of State and Hohman.

In 1889, the church erected its own structure for $2,358 when Marcus Towle, Hammond's first mayor and member of FBC, donated land on Sibley Street to the church."--Wikipedia

You guys really amaze me. Between the irrational KJV only guys and Jim's anti KJV irrationality, you guys can turn any thread, no matter the subject, into a rant. Why don't you all just be settled in your own minds and agree to disagree.

Oh yeah I read NASB and ESV for full disclosure.
