Median Income Worse Now Than It Was During Great Recession

A new report put out by the Pew Research Center finds that the median income is worse now than it was during the Great Recession.

According to Pew, the Census Bureau showed that the median income for American households in 2009 – the official end of the Great Recession – was $52,195 (in 2011 dollars), while the median income dipped to $50,054 last year, falling 4.1 percent over two years.

“The decrease in household income from 2009 to 2011 almost exactly equaled the decrease in income in the two years of the recession,” the Pew report stated. “During the Great Recession, the median U.S. household income (in 2011 dollars) dropped from $54,489 in 2007 to $52,195 in 2009, a loss of 4.2 percent. By this yardstick, the recovery from the Great Recession is bypassing the nation’s households.” ...

Well, I renewed my AARP membership, so I think they are quite right in what they are doing. But even this non-AARP, as noted, Give healthcare a chance to evolve, because the present system isn't working. If I remember right it was the goofus Republicans who had a doughnut hole in medical prescriptions so the elderly had to pay through the nose for medicines. So, at least now they can afford that pill, you say the ACA plan will only prescribe. Anyway, I guess we'll find out since it looks like the Democrats are going to do well in this election--especially after the typical voter keeps hearing how the Republicans are going to continue to line the pockets of their constituency.

No telling jpw, so those synthetic vitamins etc., your just the same way or better than the old ones.

A) AARP has the right idea of opposing the Republican Health Care Scheme.
1. Don't get sick.
2. If you do get sick die quickly.

B) The above is one sure way for healthcare outfits supporting the Republicans make a very good profit.
Seniors against Obamacare? This is why they booed Ryan.

A) You're repeating yourself a lot these days. Feel ok?

B) Booed by seniors, or AARP? AARP is another crony capitalist outfit, making profit out of senior fears. I've been a member for a number of years, and watched their decline. When my present subscription ends, it ends for good.

Democrat Healthcare Scheme:

1. Don't get sick.
2. If you do get sick, don't be elderly.
3. If you're elderly and need surgery, take a pain pill instead.

Conclusion? The old are dispensable as well as the unborn under Abominablecare.

thing is, when someone is down and out, they can use their land and get some benefit from it. remember the victory gardens of WWII? people paid their dentists with chickens in depression. let the youth go back and try out some of the sustainability methods such as seen in the online movie back to eden -- otherwise we are just passing on the next generation chemicals, nasty gm "food", and dependence on babylon.

our foods today, besides laced in chemicals are depleted of minerals and enzymes which are essential.

no synthetic drug can fix that Jim.

not saying to remove them all. just saying, they sometimes prolong life, mostly shorten in, but health comes from the soil, as we do.

Very simply put there are things that the government can do or can do when the private industry won't do because it isn't profitable. Give healthcare a chance to evolve. The article points out that company healthcare is collapsing. The AARP, just knows that Health Insurance Coverage for 50- to 64-Year-Olds--Access drops as costs rise and employer-sponsored plans decline; health care law promises help. Also this Fact Sheet: What the Health Care Law Can Do For You--What's in effect, what's still to come.

AARP has the right idea of opposing the Republican Health Care Scheme.

1. Don't get sick.
2. If you do get sick die quickly.

The above is one sure way for healthcare outfits supporting the Republicans make a very good profit.

Seniors against Obamacare? This is why they booed Ryan.

One would think that someone who has derided greed in previous post would also be against the AARP money grab at the expense of our seasoned citizens
AARP has gone political, and has long since abandoned any interest in seniors. They are promoters of Obamacare, in spite of senior opposition.

A better senior advocacy organization:
AARP/NOT

Gasp! as long as I don't get anything from the RNC! Now this might make the DNC happy! Well at least the AARP.

Paul Ryan talks Medicare, gets mixed reception at AARP convention.

Actually I have also pointed out that Mr. Ryan had one good idea anyway. I actually thought that Cheney and Rumsfeld weren't as self-serving as they were, and they had more intelligence. I was wrong on both counts. I always thought that Baby Bush was a boob, but he did protect his family and friends oil interests, if ignoring the rest of the country.
Well done, Jim. Does that bite get you 1 or 2 points from the DNC?

My I'm surprised :-7 The middle class falls further behind and they know who to blame too! Congress and Bush!

How interesting thanks to a President that Republicans hated, because he could out elephantine them, cutting the budget,--I was amused that BBC out-conserved the Repubs, making them even angrier. I'm not so amused now. He helped make a mess of the mortgage market, (Thanks Mike of N.Y., for pointing out the role of Bad Billy Clinton) and then came the well oiled Texan Baby Bush, to finish the job that Bad Billy had started. Doesn't it just give you a warm glow inside that Billy could give his daughter a million dollar wedding and the Bushes take vacations to exclusive Greek islands?

But of course we can't forget the Congress, q.v., ‘Evil’ lobbyist Jack Abramoff talk US politics (short YouTube) which somewhat highlights The Record of Republican Corruption. I'm surprised that more than just 71% of the populace can't stand Congress.
