America 'was warned of embassy attack but did nothing'
The killings of the US ambassador to Libya and three of his staff were likely to have been the result of a serious and continuing security breach, The Independent can reveal.
American officials believe the attack was planned, but Chris Stevens had been back in the country only a short while and the details of his visit to Benghazi, where he and his staff died, were meant to be confidential.
The US administration is now facing a crisis in Libya. Sensitive documents have gone missing from the consulate in Benghazi and the supposedly secret location of the "safe house" in the city, where the staff had retreated, came under sustained mortar attack. Other such refuges across the country are no longer deemed "safe"....
It's not a question of sinners or what religion or region someone is born into, the issue is our blatant ignorance and misrepresentation of Islam as a religion of peace and tolerance. Really? Where? If this little YouTube video can cause this much violence where's the peace and tolerance. (news flash it wasn't the video it is the ideology) If you read the Koran you cannot call Islam a peaceful religion.

Have to agree with Jim on this one jpw. If we had "minded our own business" the Nazi's would be in power in Europe and Japan would be run by communist. If we had "minded our own business" there would be missles in Cuba. If we had "minded our own business" the attacks would be on our soil instead of overseas.(you do remember 9/11). Even the left leaning 9/11 commission stated they were at war with us and we were not with them. Where is the U.S. "king" in Germany and Poland? Were is the U.S. king in Japan and Iraq? Not intending to defend all our actions or policies overseas but if we are out there trying to colonize the world we are not doing a good job at it.

jpw, you should be pleased with this admistration's behavior for the last 3.7 years, for it has done quite the opposite of holding westerners innocent and muslims guilty. It has gone out of its way to avoid making a connection between violence and the religion of peace, and bowed before those peaceful dictators, as you surely know.
But if we're into looking for deeper meaning, perhaps we should look into the crises that are needed before the election, thus distracting from the issues. You know, the issues revealed when minding our own business?
It would not surprise me a bit if warnings were ignored.

Many everyday people are not in that grand competition to the top of the tower of Babel.

I reject this concept of putting whole nations of people, born into a culture as my bad guy. no thanks. I'll judge each situation on its own merits. group think? no thanks.
