Gillard pulls out of Christian Lobby speech in gay marriage row
Prime Minister Julia Gillard has pulled out of a speech at the Australian Christian Lobby's national conference, after its managing director compared the health effects of smoking to homosexuality.
Mr Wallace made the remarks in Tasmania yesterday during a debate with Greens leader Christine Milne on the merits of same-sex marriage.
"I think we're going to owe smokers a big apology when the homosexual community's own statistics for its health - which it presents when it wants more money for health - are that it has higher rates of drug-taking, of suicide, it has the life of a male reduced by up to 20 years," he told the audience.
"The life of smokers is reduced by something like seven to 10 years and yet we tell all our kids at school they shouldn't smoke."...
Matthew 24 11 "And many false prophets will arise, and will mislead many. 12 "And because lawlessness is increased, most people's love will grow cold. 13 "But the one who endures to the end, he shall be saved. 24 "For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will show great signs and wonders, so as to mislead, if possible, even the elect. 25 "Behold, I have told you in advance. 26 "If therefore they say to you, 'Behold, He is in the wilderness,' do not go forth, or, 'Behold, He is in the inner rooms,' do not believe them.---NASB
The verses in Matthew 24:4-51 the ones above and following one might say is a summary and precursor for the Book of Revelation
Every Christian should know then end of the Book the Bible and that is the Book of Revelation. Yes, God is going to throw Satan in hell, the outcome is foreordained, this is why Satan is so angry and wants to take as many people with him as possible.
No matter how things are going, I don't think we should ever think that satan wins....he was defeated long ago. We must patiently wait for God to bring justice!
He was probably thinking of a study by a candidate to be Surgeon General of the U.S., but Bush wouldn't appoint him after the queers made such a fuss. So much for Republican morality. Oh, the article Mr. Holsinger wrote -- Pathophysiology of Male Homosexuality.
I suppose Mzzzzzzzzzzzz. Gillard's not going to this meeting should be expected since she's a dedicated atheist. We can only give our sympathy to the Australian Christians since we Americans and the British are going through the same problems with queer unions.
"What I was saying is that on one hand we are vocal on our discouragement of people to smoke and on the other we are suppressing public dialogue about the health risks associated with homosexuality."
This guy Wallace is a clown.
If this is the best he can offer for a quote "Christian" arguement against sodomy then he is way off the mark.
The kind of remarks and polemics we get from churches such as the Anglican and Episcoplian et al on sodomy are so useless and fatuous that I'm not surprised that Satan is winning this one in the nations.
