The San Diego city attorney's office says the Roman Catholic archbishop-designate of San Francisco has been charged with two misdemeanors stemming from his arrest for allegedly driving under the influence.
The city attorney's office said Friday that the Rev. Salvatore Cordileone is accused of one count of driving under the influence and one count of driving with a blood-alcohol level greater than the legal limit of .08 percent.
The 56-year-old Cordileone is currently bishop of Oakland and is scheduled to be installed as archbishop of San Francisco on Oct. 4....
John Y., all Catholic priests of all ranks, from parish priest and upto and including the Romish Pope are disqualified to being a pastor of a church, The Scandal of the Catholic Priesthood. Of course these people may become eligible for a church leadership role if, they Pilgrimage From Rome, as God graciously lead this former priest to do.
But sometimes even a Catholic leader sees the light dimly, and think of some good reforms, and some bad ones too, e.g., Cardinal Carlo Martini says Church '200 years behind' Unfortunately, he now sees he didn't go far enough and make his pilgrimage from Rome, before it was too late.
"Cordileone was stopped at a DUI checkpoint last weekend while driving with his mother and a visiting priest after dinner with friends. He issued a statement of apology and said he brought "shame" and "disgrace" upon himself."
oooops!!
Well its not his fault is it.
These relics, statuettes and icons he has been worshipping to and relying on must have failed in their duty to preserve the Roman Catholic archbishop-designate of San Francisco!!
I don't know its getting to be a rum old world when you can't even trust your graven images, ain't it?
Why would Cordileone want to get inebriated? Cordileone should have more discipline and confine himself to drinking moderately. That DUI arrest should disqualify Cordileone from assuming the position of Archbishop.
