Evangelical Colleges Biola and Grace Sue Obama Administration Over Contraceptive Mandate

Biola University

Two evangelical colleges, Biola University (California) and Grace College (Indiana), filed a lawsuit today against the Obama administration. The lawsuit is the most recent challenge to the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) mandate that employers provide insurance coverage of contraceptives, including emergency contraceptives such as Plan B and ella, at no cost to employees.

The HHS announced in August 2011 that organizations would be required to provide contraception to their employees as part of the health care reform signed by President Obama.

Attorneys have filed a total of six lawsuits on behalf of evangelical colleges against the mandate: Biola and Grace join Wheaton College, Geneva College, Colorado Christian University, and Louisiana College. ...

The article itself is informative about some of the issues with this part of the ACA, but as the excerpt from the article I thinks shows this is going to a higher court sometime, just on the issue of timing of the lawsuits, some of which look more like publicity stunts rather then concern for the issues involved. This was especially the case with the Louisiana school.

What's your take on this specific requirement?

Generally, any thoughts on the executive branch of government making laws of the land through a non-accountable bureaucracy?

What you have to understand is that the Roman Catholic fallacy is part of the problem - Not part of the solution.
When Christ came to earth He did not enlist the help of the pharisees because they did not have true faith. They had built up a human religious club which rejected Scripture and wrote their own religion.
This is exactly what the Roman Catholic pharisees have done over centuries they have fabricated their own religious club with their own religious rules and rejected the Bible.
Cults do that! Look at Liberalism which removes all authorities including the Bible and like the pharisees make it up as they go along.
Liberals and Roman Catholics are united on the same path. Liberals reject the Bible and worship mankind, his science, philosophies and his lusts. Roman catholics reject the Bible and worship relics, icons, dead sinners and statuettes. Roman Catholics worship long dead carcases, whereas Liberals worship the dead in sin. Both are unBiblical and idolatrous. Same path different effigies.
Deut 27:15 Cursed be the man that maketh any graven or molten image, an abomination unto the LORD, the work of the hands ....
Perfectly said! I agree fully and would change none of your comment.

Challenges to the contraception insurance mandate have produced mixed results. In July, a Nebraska court ruled that religious institutions, individuals, and states lack standing to challenge the administration's rules. However, Colorado-based Hercules Industries and the Catholic family that owns and runs it won a federal injunction to suspend the mandate.

"This is nothing but a massive hit in the face for Catholics. Catholics, you have to understand. Read Ephesians 6. You have to put on your spiritual armor. You are not battling man. You are not. You are battling evil. This is Obama's way of saying back off and play ball -- our way. We are not going to move off of abortion, gay marriage or the revamping of America's values. The world now is being reshaped by evil -- way beyond Barack Obama or by this administration.

"What the Vatican does and what the world's leaders in churches all over America do is absolutely critical. They're going after the Vatican because it is a church of hierarchy. Attack the top and then you can change the Church, change the country, change the world.

"Once the President and Soroses of the world take care of the Vatican, how hard do you think it will be to pick off the Lutherans, or the Mormons or whoever or the Jews? They're starting big. Your evangelical pastor, your evangelical church is a piece of cake."

"Both Plan B and ella are categorized as abortion-inducing drugs, and that seems to be a common understanding"

Drop, drop, drop, bit by bit we observe Satan and sin attacking the Bible, the Laws of God. If its not homosexual practice its abortion and marriage/family destruction. Morals have become the battle ground in society and the politicians especially Democrats are at the front, on the enemies side.

Many churches are contending but noticeably many churches are so poisoned by Liberalism that they just don't care. The population overall is divided between apathy and traditional moral values. However generation by generation morals are being diluted or adulterated.
