A group that pushes the philosophy of âloving yourself and your fellow man rather than a godâ is attacking religious believers in a new billboard campaign in the host cities of the upcoming Republican and Democratic conventions.
According to the group, the billboards feature assertions of Christianity and Mormonism that they say have no place in politics.
One version of the campaign is scheduled to run in Charlotte, N.C., where the Democratic National Convention will be held Sept. 3-6.
The billboard, as seen on American Atheistsâ website, attacks Jesus as a âUseless Saviorâ next to an image of a piece of toast with a purported image of Jesus burned into it....
Frank wrote: Scripture says that those who donât believe in God are fools. It says that those who preach the gospel of Christ will appear foolish to those who are fools. Now that wasnât hard, was it!
That's about the way of it, Frank.
1 Corinthians 1:17-21 KJV 17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect. 18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. 19 For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. 20 Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? 21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
I used to think preaching was foolishness until God saved me through it. Wow, when that word comes with power, there is no resisting it. And when I think that Christ "died for the ungodly", it fair takes my breath away.
What do you expect from a bunch of fools? They, if any of them have been approached by the Holy Spirit and KNOW the truth, are committing the unforgivable sin, and indeed Christ's sacrifice as Savior is 'useless' to them.
A group that pushes the philosophy of "loving yourself and your fellow man rather than a god" is attacking...their fellow man. Sounds like they got things figured out, doesn't it? Useless billboard, Jesus is savior. Sounds more like reality to me.
Romans 1:18, For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, 19. because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. 20. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.
My Lord and Savior is so wonderful, compassionate, loving and merciful that I can't even imagine how He could be more. Comments by these fools are so silly that they probably should just be ignored, but I just can't do that.
How they could mention Mormonism in the same context as Christianity just shows their ignorance for all to see. But I will leave that obvious concern alone.
Scripture says that those who donât believe in God are fools. It says that those who preach the gospel of Christ will appear foolish to those who are fools. Now that wasnât hard, was it!
