Representative Mike Kelly, speaking on the House floor today, managed something very rare in the history of the institution – he got a standing ovation. Applause is usually forbidden in the house, but Kelly‘s blistering attack on regulatory red tape and Washington’s culture of control was apparently so powerful that several of his fellow house members couldn’t resist showing their support, clapping, standing up and shouting “USA! USA! USA!â€
Those dirty liberal Democrats! Tying everything in red tape! We need a good Republican like Bill Clinton! e.g., Womanizers for Maggie: Hassan embraces Bill Clinton, to get rid of restrictions like Glass/Steagall Oops! I guess Billy wasn't a Republican, I guess all --thinking-- Republicans are against that law?
'Representative Walter Jones (R-NC) said that he regretted two votes during his time as a Congressman — the Iraq War and repealing Glass-Steagall. "Isn't it time to have a discussion and debate about reinstating Glass-Steagall," he asked.' excerpt from, All Of The Sudden, Congressmen Were Talking About Reinstating Glass-Steagall On The Hill Today. (Oh, and look at the article that is referenced in this one, both are quite short.)
I assume this Congressman who wants less red-tape, and no doubt there is a fair amount to cut, is a member of the Republican Mad Hatter's Tea Party (as were the ones who applauded him? I hope no new ones of that movement get elected in November and the old ones get kicked out.)
Bureaucracy like Liberalism are servants of Satan. These tentacles of the attitude of 'more' and 'more' government, which is found in America's Democrats and UK's socialists have but one arrogant aim and that is control of the hoi polloi.
Russia and China are the nation examples of this flaw in government and society.
Trouble is that gullible people vote for this type of malicious big brother control.
