Baptist College Vows to Defy Obama

The president of Louisiana College said his school’s lawsuit against ObamaCare will go forward and vowed to defy the law even if the courts rule in favor of the Obama administration.

‚ÄúIf the government continues to say that we have to do this, we will not do it,‚ÄĚ President Joe Aguillard told Fox News. ‚ÄúThere‚Äôs going to be, in my opinion, a constitutional crisis. We‚Äôre not going to do it.‚ÄĚ

Louisiana College, affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention, filed suit against the federal government in February. They believe the administration’s mandate that religious employers provide abortion-inducing drugs, sterilization and contraception is unconstitutional. ...

Jim L:So because of your intense hatred for the Catholic Church you will not agree with the Catholic Church that the use of artificial birth control is against the Bible? And just because 98 percent of Catholic women use artificial birth control does not mean that it is right. Those Catholic women using artificial birth control should be excommunicated for going against the Bible.

Even the historically big-family Mormons trashed their biblical 100% pro-life dogma decades ago just to grow their ranks and not ruffle their members' feathers. Now their position on contraception is no different than that of an atheist.

Isn't it interesting that in our "just do it" politically-correct age, the Romish Church still stands on the ancient biblical teaching --- even at the Supreme Court level --- despite whithering support from its members?

Dear fork in the road,
Two evils don't make a right - let's get to the crux of the issue. The U.S. government is asking religious organizations to provide abortifacients to its employees. Yes, I believe it wrong for a religious institution to accept government funding to arbitrate so-called "safe sex" propaganda; I also believe it utterly heinous for the U.S. government to force all religious institutions everywhere to violate their consciences or be fined or imprisoned - this parallels what happened to the church when Hitler took power in Nazi Germany. This act is a violation of our Constitution (no wonder the left wants to either re-interpret, ignore it, or re-write it).
Have you ever stopped to think why the Federal government is so interested in supporting the deaths of millions of American babies?
Email me if you are interested in my response.

I like the previous two comments, but which are from the Bible is a little more difficult to answer, aping the Romish Church, it's leadership is never good. Even the women of the Romish Church ignores it in this area,"...While Catholic Church teaching proscribes the use of artificial birth control to avoid conception, 98 percent of Catholics use contraception, according to separate surveys." excerpt from, Catholics Support White House Contraception Mandate.

I would hope this school is not "hollering before they're hurt," q.v., Judge rejects contraception suit filed by 7 states or doing to be ecumenical with the Romish Church, Why I'm Not a Southern Baptist by Pastor Cloud, I use his material from the time to time though I thoroughly disagree with him on the KJV only issue, but it doesn't come up in this commentary.

So if this college also attacked Clerical Celibacy, then I would be a lot happier with them.

In a related story the National Association of Evangelicals applied for and received a four-year $1 million dollar grant in 2008 from the National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy (an arm of Planned Parenthood) that provides contraception to Christian teens and college students in an effort to reduce the skyrocketing number of Evangelical abortions.
These are two divergent paths.
Which is of the Bible?
The N.A.E has been on a steady downgrade since its inception in 1941. When one considers that as an organization, it embraced those who deny the innerrancy of the Bible, one cannot expect that it is going to continue to remain faithful towards any other standards of Christianity, (doctrinal or practical) over a 70 year period of time. Is it any surprise therefore that it's now helping Christian teens commit fornication by providing a way out of any responsibilities for their actions?
