It's summertime, and for many American church leaders, that means annual denominational meetings. Debates over evolution and Bible translations in Muslim-dominated cultures highlighted the Presbyterian Church in America's (PCA) 40th General Assembly. On evolution, the conservative denomination affirmed that Scripture and the Westminster Confession of Faith make clear that "Adam and Eve are real, historical human beings directly created by God." Some delegates wished to state more explicitly that the Bible contradicts any evolutionary interpretation of Adam's origins, including theistic evolution. But by a majority vote, the denomination agreed to let its traditional stance remain the final word on evolution, for the time being....
Whoever wrote this article for world magazine either didn't attend the vote (I did) or is putting a positive spin. The resolution that passed made the theistic evolutionists happy because it said nothing against their convoluted nonsense and cut off the passage of a direct statement against.

Protestant churches meet and debate the Word and the doctrines of God.
This will be alien to the Roman Catholic org where men in frocks tell them how to read the Bible, what it says and how to worship dead carcasses and other graven images.
The Vatican of course doesn't want the pew fillers to think for themselves that would be tantamount to understanding Scripture and questioning the idolatrous blasphemous heresies of Rome. This was why they kept up the Latin preaching to the pews who couldn't speak Latin in the good old days.
BTW Don't worry about the papal antichrist - all real Christians know who he is and that his address is the Vatican.
Things like this have to spelled out in order to keep the wolves from dressing up like sheep and decimating the flock. That's what led to the creation of almost every creed ever written.
"On evolution, the conservative denomination affirmed that Scripture and the Westminster Confession of Faith make clear that "Adam and Eve are real, historical human beings directly created by God.""
If Presbyterians are 'conservative' why would they ever have to write this down let alone vote on this sort of fact? Next they'll be voting to affirm that they're human, the Bible now contains truth or the Pope is suddenly not the Antichrist.
What generation could ever be edified by this fool's errand? Sounds like the musings of none other than R.C. Sproul and his liberal leanings.
