Natural, organic items grab bigger share in supermarkets
There's shower gel made from carrots. Egg-white protein powder. Diapers with no chlorine. Medjool dates and dried papaya.
This isn't some exotic, hippy supermarket au natural. This is Kroger, one of the largest mainstream grocers in the nation.
"Used to be this was all very faddish," said Gregg Proctor, who heads up natural foods for Kroger's central division, which includes Indiana. "Not anymore. We're adding new items constantly because if we don't get it when it comes out, our competition will."...

Precisement, on both the statement and the question.
I wonder how many folks are being duped by the cartons of so-called "pure apple juice", which can sit on a supermarket shelf for days or weeks. Whereas if I make some pure apple juice in my juicer, it must needs be drunk down very quickly.

But jpw since we are all junkies by default already perhaps there is no need to worry anymore, our immune systems should be in decrement by now after all the scientific progress we have made!!
Quote; "Crops genetically modified to poison pests can deliver significant environmental benefits, according to a study spanning two decades and 1.5m square kilometres. The benefits extended to non-GM crops in neighbouring fields, researchers found.
Plants engineered to produce a bacterial toxin lethal to some insects but harmless to people were grown across more than 66m hectares around the world in 2011" (theguardian.co)
what is most important right now is GMO labeling. once people actually know what they are eating, they can make choices -- GMO labeling needs to happen.
the lobby against this transparency is huge.
do we want God's provision of natural seed to be left behind forever for this sterilized manufactured seed beholden to one company.....how much power is given when one company controls the seed of the world?
this is not an exxageration. Look into how much money the Gates foundation puts into bringing this to the continent of Africa, while investing in the Svalbard global seed bank.

its important to buy directly from small farmers-- go to farmers markets, visit their farm, and plant fruit/nut trees, invest in the future, because if we do not support them, all we will have is the nasty stuff.

Nay, lad.
Observe:
Titus 2:13-14 KJV 13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the GREAT GOD and our Saviour Jesus Christ; 14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
and
John 4:24 KJV 24 God is a SPIRIT: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
Therefore Great Spirit, which is Jehovah, El Shaddai.

Problem is, Jim, that not very much of our food today is created by God, but rather manufactured in a laboratory. It is abnormal, and will create abnormal humans. Who wants to eat tomatoes grown on a massive ceiling without any soil? Or beef that's been injected? Or vegetables without natural taste?
I'm old enough to remember what food tasted like when it was God who created it. It was beautiful! And it brought glory to the Great Spirit!
1 Timothy 4:1 But the Spirit explicitly says that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons, 2 by means of the hypocrisy of liars seared in their own conscience as with a branding iron, 3 men who forbid marriage and advocate abstaining from foods, which God has created to be gratefully shared in by those who believe and know the truth. 4 For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected, if it is received with gratitude; 5 for it is sanctified by means of the word of God and prayer. 6 In pointing out these things to the brethren, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, constantly nourished on the words of the faith and of the sound doctrine which you have been following.---NASB
