On the docket for the Reformed Church in America's General Synod: women's ordination and homosexuality
The Reformed Church in America during its annual General Synod that starts today will consider removing from its books language that permits conscientious objection to the ordination of women.
The longstanding “conscience clauses” have created “an institutionalized lack of support (for ordination of women) at best and a deterrent from ministry at worst,” according to a Synod commission recommending that the language be dropped.
The Evangelical/Fundamentalist Protestant organization, by definition, must classify Sanger's birth control as adiaphora. To reclassify it as illicit and publicly prohibit it will always draw ear drum-piercing howls of protest labeling anyone who does: "Legalist."
Regardless of the damage that this steroid does to the flora and fauna of the Body of Christ, it will, yea must, flow unleashed ransacking every organ of His Body. Like advanced forms of diabetes where limbs are continually lopped off, there's no end to the carnage contraception will wreck.

I would question the whole movement.
As we see the connection between the curses of Adam and Eve (labor of land and childbirth)-- modern man has tried to erase these by avoiding both, the working of the land, seeds for health, the work of the hands to prepare foods in fresh and traditional ways is diminished. Children seen as burden.
The feminist movement and the modern institionalisation of society have both usurped the family government. I would love to see the dignity of the head of the home restored, so tired of seeing the family dad on tv portrayed as stupid. Male leadership is a blessing.
You do lay heavy burdens on others backs and don't lift a finger to assist them.
Should Sapphira have obeyed her husband?
The Bible also tells you to submit to authority, yet you would find exemptions when this doesn't suit. One day claiming it is legal to obey the government, the next it is against Gods law to obey the govenment. Which is it? Will you submit to the Government authority God has placed above you?
Is this 'law' found in the Epistles meant for church on Sunday or every day of the week? Is it just for Christian women or should all women be silent? How will you enforce this law? What is the punishment should this law be broken? Should women teach male children over the age of thirteen? Should women be taught by men!!!? Are women allowed to teach women?
1 Timothy 2:11-13 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. For Adam was first formed, then Eve.
Yeah, that's pretty ambiguous. I can see why the RCA is in a quandry.

The most ancient prohibition law made by God was in The Garden, and look what happened when the woman disobeyed it. But the effect can be reversed, and you can lead a contented life as a disciple of the Lord Jesus, because if you "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, thou shalt be saved."
To "girl pwr" - If your comment comes from a position of simply stating facts about the evils of femininsm, then I agree with you.
However, if you commented from a position of supporting feminism, then you are nothing but a foolish "girl," and the only "power" you (think you) have is based on falsehoods and unbiblical beliefs. Without even realizing it, the "power" you claim to have isn't even your own...it's Satan's.
Be thankful God has spared you, it means you still have time to repent...if God chooses to grant you repentance. You'd be best advised to drop to your knees and ask Him to forgive you right now. May God have mercy on you.
Seriously, I will be praying for you, although something tells me you won't really care about that...at least not until your eyes are (hopefully) opened someday, and you repent of your wicked and depraved thinking.

That's ok-when the sky falls, it will cover the scorched earth.

Whether or not humans agree, the Holy Scriptures are absolute truth, infallible, and fully reliable. God could not have been more clear that the office of pastor/elder is to be held by men only. Please be wise and Berean-like. Study Timothy and Titus that very specifically define the qualifications for men in this office...one being that he is the "husband of one wife"...gender specific! Study the Greek...you will see that this is true. Just because one may not like that fact is irrelevant. We are all going to stand before God and give an account for how we handled His truth...be very careful you who are so "easily offended" by the exclusion of women from the pulpit...it was designed that way by God for a reason. Why can't we all be thankful with how our sovereign God created us, male and female, embrace the differences, be thankful with our divinely designed roles, and perform them well for His glory...not our own? It's only when our postmodern, emergent society decides to do things their own "enlightened" ways that we encounter so many fractures within our families, churches, and society as a whole. May God have mercy on this nation...we are heading right over the cliff into abomination on so many levels...history DOES repeat itself.
Messenger. I am part of the younger generation.. And sorry what u say is unbiblical and unscriptural. But I will agree with u on one area, of women pastors, and homosexuals, and seminary.. 2Tim3:1-7. But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come:. for man will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, Unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong , haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God. Having a Form of Godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lust, always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the TRUTH. Messenger. Sounds, like u have the wrong message. I prey u search the scriptures, and not sinful men, or women.

Number of lady MDiv's in the pulpit is irrelevant. Neither prejudice nor propriety is determined by headcount. Try again.

The pulpit according to God is "God only"
The called by God to the pulpit are "male only."
The point being, You can stick anybody in the pulpit but if God is not there according to his Holy Word, then all you will hear is human babble. In fact the truly "Christian" lady will not even think of entering the pulpit - therefore the woman in the pulpit is Liberal - NOT Christian.
The woman is called by God to be wife and mother as HE states.... "15 Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety"
1Cor 14:34 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law. 35 And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.
How many 1,000s of co-pastors, even Reformed co-pastors, are out there?

Have we truly become so apostate that we must roll with the world? Whatever happened to submitting to authority of the Bible? Also, messenger, you seem rather ignorant when you lump Roman Catholics in with Christians. According to Roman Catholicism, we are considered apostate and are damned. According to my Bible, they are apostate and are damned (although, I don't doubt that I may have brothers and sisters who are there). The problem with Roman Catholicism is the blatant idolatry and works-based salvation. It is not about Christ at all!

The Biblical position has been in favor of male pastors because Eve was in the transgression, not that women arent well qualified. While I agree with that position, I dont condemn those that believe women can teach because we are ALL one in Christ.
1 Timothy 2:12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. 1 Timothy 2:13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve. 1 Timothy 2:14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.
Galatians 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
