The White House on Sunday congratulated Egypt's president-elect, Mohammed Morsi, and urged him to reach out to all parties and segments of society as he forms a new government.
Striking a cautious but hopeful tone, a statement by White House press secretary Jay Carney called the election result a milestone in Egypt's transition to democracy and said Washington looks forward to working with Morsi's government "on the basis of mutual respect."
"Millions of Egyptians voted in the election, and President-elect Morsi and the new Egyptian government have both the legitimacy and responsibility of representing a diverse and courageous citizenry," Carney said....
Christians are butchered around the globe as US IFB preachers sit on their laurels telling themselves they're totally engaged in doing the Lord's work as they preach yet another recycled 45 minute sermon, once a week.
When Jesus said to take up your cross and follow Him, this didn't mean that expositional preaching is the only way for a pastor to accomplish His Great Commission.

Like I said, we're working on it. Just a little local difficulty. Normal service will resume as soon as possible.
And lets not forget Eygpt is no stranger to America - after all there were no problems for American's under the last regime - then there was the CIVIL uprising - and now a new government. Please don't pretend on the www that American's and Eygpt haven't been in bed together. Some people are acting as if Eygpt is an enemy already. Strange isn't it?
Quite correct, Stedbrook, it's SOP to congratulate a new leader, even though, ...Egypt is an 'Islamic nightmare'. One has to make the best of a bad situation.

Diplomatic niceties aside, the predictable response is that our presidents (sic) are no doubt also working on sponsoring an Egyptian military coup once again at some point in the next 4-10 years.
The policy has worked well for sixty years, no need for change.
