Daily Mail urges Govt u-turn over gay marriage debacle

David Cameron has been encouraged to ditch his controversial plans to rewrite the definition of marriage by an editorial in one of the nation’s biggest newspapers.

Wednesday’s edition of the Daily Mail says the Prime Minister “didn’t begin to think through the implications” of redefining marriage.

And the paper, which has a readership of over four million people, says that a u-turn on the issue “can’t come soon enough”.

Why ask that? just because Catholics, nominal Christians and atheists may have agreed on what was right 50 or more years ago, why should that be true today? Only a minority of this country are Christians shouldn't you should expect a deterioration in the country's morals?
Gil Rugh said or, wrote:
The message of spiritual salvation and social rescue gets joined together by many in their outreach efforts. Outreach by the Church, as mandated by Jesus Christ, is clearly outlined. It is to be centered around making disciples by going out into the world to proclaim the message of His death, burial, and resurrection. There is no instruction in His great commission for Christians to be involved in social action or changing people's physical circumstances as part of their evangelism.

Where was Gil Rugh when the Progressives were changing the law of the land from divorce as required to divorce for a paper cut (NFD)? Soon the civil magistrate will divorce two men for any reason. This takes us right back to the NT days.

"“What the Prime Minister failed to consider was the truly momentous legal, constitutional and religious significance of tinkering with the meaning of the word ‘marriage’ to embrace homosexuals"

The Labour party and the Lib-Dems do not care about morals or the Bible.

However a large section of the Conservatives, traditionalists and those who still stand by the moral standards founded on Christian values, do care about morals. Sadly this means that in all probability the Socialists will get back in at the next election. By doing the PC thing Cameron has increased voter apathy in the conservative rank and file.

The modern neo-conservative position on homosexuality is basically, "who cares as long as it doesn't affect me."
What they do not perceive is just how powerfully it will affect them by destroying more and more community and family values.

This nation is going to hell!

Now, when a Progressive sees a Fundamentalist reach for his Bible, he presumes the biblicist will be wrong again, no matter the moral issue (abortion, abortion pill, same-sex marriage, IVF, sterilization etc).
You commit the fallacies of Induction & Begging the Question.

You throw stones from a glass house – anyone who bothers to read works from the period will see that Progressives were no less racist than Bible Belters, including most of the Secret Six abolitionists who supported John Brown (a late “Puritan” who actually treated black people as equals). Progressives continued to consider black people inferior until after WW2, well after they achieved political hegemony in this country. FDR's Executive Order 9066 was one of the most blatant examples of Progressive racism in modern history, equivalent to Stalin's arrests of ethnic Germans.

That you make up things to make a point, phrasing it in such a way as to sound reasonable, is noted.
Nonetheless, made up things remain made up. Aside from which, "Progressives" aren't.

Their love of sodomy easily supersedes their concern for the Nation`s horrendous problems & should be preparing instead for a total financial worldwide collapse instead of this perversion. Are they sleepwalking or taking drugs?. These people are supposed to be the " cream of society". Am I going senile & have completely lost it??
