See Ezekiel 5 where the ‚Äúchosen‚ÄĚ fathers eat their sons at god‚Äôs direction.
Really, the amount of canniblism in the bible is quite astonishing.
Of course this is horribly twisted, but necessary to understand.
Our rebellion against God will produce this effect, it's not that God causes us to devour one another, we do it naturally and He stops us. When we reject Him, and He allows us to have our own way... we are exposed for the cannibals we are.
As far as the actual book goes, It looks interesting, and at first glance appears to be written to prevent such activity.
I would be one of the "already failed" camp and will probably never look at it again.
