"The Government plans to remove sex from the law of marriage"
Actually if you remove sex from normal marriage between a man and woman - the effect on future generations will be the same as the abomination marriages.

Roman Catholic idolatry resides in the land of whoredom. Ezek 16:17 Thou hast also taken thy fair jewels of my gold and of my silver, which I had given thee, and madest to thyself images of men, and didst commit whoredom with them 20 Moreover thou hast taken thy sons and thy daughters, whom thou hast borne unto me, and these hast thou sacrificed unto them to be devoured. Is this of thy whoredoms a small matter 23 And it came to pass after all thy wickedness, (woe, woe unto thee! saith the Lord GOD) 24 That thou hast also built unto thee an eminent place, and hast made thee an high place in every street 30 How weak is thine heart, saith the Lord GOD, seeing thou doest all these things, the work of an imperious whorish woman;
The Vatican - A Whore!! The Roman Catholic whoredom!!
When the average Christian started a private wholesale ripping of his fruit from the womb, the government would eventually rip out "sex" the marriage laws.
If sex with your wife is incomplete (fruitless, by whatever your method of choice), how is this not akin to gay (fruitless) sex?

"Under current rules, a marriage is not official until a man and woman have “ordinary and complete” sexual intercourse."
Even the government has known that openness to children via "ordinary and complete" language is the very bedrock of the covenant of marriage.
Now that the average Christian has had synthetic (i.e. incomplete and infertile) sex mediated by a condom, the pill or sterilization for 50 years, thus violating even the government's definition of marriage, in all fairness, the UK desires to redefine marriage accordingly.
As we celebrate the golden anniversary of almost universal sterile Christian sexual activity, the church, itself, has inadvertently ushered in a brave new world of global gay (i.e. fruitless) marriage laws.
And in the US, the government is having the church fund even more unfruitful (a prototype of gay) Christian sex.
