Catholic college drops health plan over contraception mandate
A small Catholic college in Ohio said Tuesday it was dropping health insurance coverage for students rather than comply with a federal mandate that the plan provide free birth control.
The Franciscan University of Steubenville "will not participate in a plan that requires us to violate the consistent teachings of the Catholic Church on the sacredness of human life," according to a bulletin to students posted on the university's website.
Not only will the university drop its own plan, but it will no longer require its undergraduates to carry insurance, the bulletin said. "We didn't want to put them in a situation where they would have to violate their conscience," said Michael Hernon, a vice president at Franciscan University....

Someone wants contraceptives, they can buy them cheap at WalMart. We aren't all socialist useful idiots, as hopefully we discover in November. You should never assume America is quite as portrayed by government media(ours or yours)

Just thought I'd ask!
Oh You mean this article?? I have been responding to the popish posts which have been trying to suggest that they are the perfect solution to societies various transgressions. Government? The 98 percent was among all Catholic women who have had sex and did not include "natural family planning," i.e. the only officiallly Church-sanctioned method of preventing pregnancies. If evangelical leaders teach the true gospel, why would they also continue "popping abortifacient pills" by the truck loads? Even pro-life atheists understand the ethical issues of abortifacients. That's the easy part. Understanding the true gospel, however, requires an additional gift of spiritual discernment.
Since almost no evangelical leader gets this mundane, but millenniums-old secular issue right anymore, how can anyone be so certain the vast majority of today's evangelical pastors are teaching the true gospel correctly, thus ensuring one's eternal security?

Aahh So the heirarchy of *celebate* bishops etc, all male of course, are not using contraception!!!
Liberal self-excommunicating Catholics have always supported and/or used abortifacients. They gave themselves over to their sensual sins long ago.
Whereas, the Roman Catholic Church has always been against abortifacients.
The President is cleverly using this HHS Contraception Mandate to savagely devour the Roman Catholic Church's vocal chords speaking against Planned Parenthood's abortifacient arsenal.
Watch out when he comes to attack Evangelical churches after he's re-elected in November. How will all Christians fare when he reduces/eliminates deductions for charitable giving, taxes all church properties and assets, taxes pastors, requires full Planned Parenthood funding from tithes and offerings etc?
The Catholic Church is getting a major shiner this year. What's in store for 2013?

This may be the fanciful reverie of a bunch of celibate bishops but...
"According to a Hart Research poll, 71 percent of American voters, including 77 percent of Catholic women voters, support the benefit that health plans cover prescription birth control at no cost."
And!
"Pundits and bishops warn President Obama he could lose the white Catholic vote over requiring a contraception option for insurance plans. But Catholic women say they want birth control covered in employee health plans" "•58% of all Catholics agree employers should be required to provide their employees with health care plans that cover contraception. That slides down to 52% for Catholic voters, 50% for white Catholics." (usatoday.com)
Bishops in charge - Nuuuh!! Women in charge - Yes!!
"Women are significantly more likely than men to agree that employers should be required to provide health care plans that cover contraception (62% vs. 47% respectively)."
The Democrat party supports Planned Parenthood and their abortifacient arsenal. The liberal news media supports Planned Parenthood and their abortifacient arsenal. The Roman Catholic Church does not support Planned Parenthood and their abortifacient arsenal.
The Obama Administration and the liberal news media are not divided on this issue. The Roman Catholic Church stands in opposition to these organizations on this issue.

Statements such as these aren't designed to work against the "servants of Satan." They say that the majority of Latinos are in favor of homosexuality. This is already suspect because it is from Public Radio International. It is unproveable nonsense. Such statements are meant to sway public attitudes and create suppot that isn't there. Thus the house of Obama is not divided against itself at all.
