A Presbyterian Church (USA) seminary in New York has honored Planned Parenthood leaders with its "Lives of Commitment" Award.
Auburn Seminary of New York awarded Cecile Richards, president of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA), and Cecilia Guthrie Boone, chair of PPFA, at a breakfast benefit on Wednesday along with several other people.
Auburn Seminary provided The Christian Post with a statement on the event, which states that the breakfast benefit event "honors women whose inspiring and courageous leadership sets an example for others and makes a meaningful impact on society."...
Mike, apparently Catholic Bible Studies are done, but usually to just ridicule the Bible. What I've seen of The Roman Catholic Bible, was The Apocrypha was intermixed with Scripture, even something that which is basically a Catholic Bible, the AV didn't do. It kept it in a separate section. But I found the interpretations of verses which I believe means that all Catholic Bibles have make all Catholic Bibles, study bibles to lead a person away from God.

wrote, this has been proclaimed to RC's for hundreds of years. Personally I don't know anyone who has been converted through it, including myself. But I know the defenses come up and the doors close at this approach. What did get me to begin looking closer was reading an old Bible I found. During my 3 decades as an RC, not once was it taught me to read the Bible, not even an RC version. There's a reason for that. Even the RC versions contradict RCC teaching. So I disagree that it is some sort of compromise or agreement to recommend to an RC that he read his own Bible. You may not be able to see this, for you likely think the Holy Spirit is helpless without the KJV.
Ah Jim. I see you love the RCC bible too. I suppose this reflects your indifference to whatever Greek text supports your version/NASB?
The RCC bible is supported by the texts; Codex Alexandrinus "A" Codex Vaticanus "B" Codex Sinaiticus "A" Collectively known as the "Great Uncials."
Quote; "I must point out something ironic about these two alleged "oldest and best" manuscripts. They do not agree with each other! "There are 3036 differences between the readings in Vaticanus and Sinaiticus in the Gospels alone" (Codex B and Its Allies by Herman Hoskier; volume 2, p.1). John Burgon points out that it is easier to find two consecutive verses in which the two manuscripts differ, than two consecutive verses in which they entirely agree. We should find that very disturbing. My research has led me to conclude that the three "Great Uncials" are at best unreliable. I am thankful that the Bibles of the Reformation were based on what came to be called the Traditional text or the Textus Receptus." (Pastor David L Brown Ph.D)
wrote wrote, wrote about the horrors The Roman Catholic Bible. The New Testment isn't that bad, and one of the important things is that it is in contempory English. It's the commentary that comes with it, that is horrific. As,
Dan and Cheryl Corner wrote: I used to read the KJV for the first five years after I was saved. (By the way, I was saved by reading a Bible that wasn't the KJV! As a former Catholic, I would never have trusted any translation other than a Catholic Bible, so that is what I read and got saved through!) When I finally switched from the KJV to the NIV, my comprehension of the Word of God soared. What I struggled to understand from the KJV was now easily understood!
While reading the KJV, I had come across "unicorn(s)" (Num. 23:22; 24:8; Deut. 33:17; Job 39:9,10; Psa. 22:21; 29:6; 92:10; Isa. 34:7) and knew they were fictitious animals and it momentarily cast a shred of doubt over me about the inspiration of the Bible! Thank God this did not stop me from continuing in the Scriptures!
In the 21st century it takes an extremely well-made programme or one containing important new information to produce the degree of shock these crimes merit. The Shame of the Catholic Church ticked both boxes. In fact, what it told us about Cardinal Seán Brady, Archbishop of Armagh and Primate of All Ireland, leaves us in little doubt that his position is hopelessly compromised." The Telegraph 04.May.2012

Good grief Mike. What are you saying? You can't compromise with the papal antichrist and his minions! You shoudn't encourage the Roman Catholic to remain where he is and read their counterfeit interpretation of Scripture!! That would amount to a travesty! Don't forget the Vatican and its Magisterium are a parody of the true church and doctrine.
What we need to do is proclaim to the Roman Catholics that the Vatican - the papal antichrist - the RC caricature of a church - their heresy, idolatry and other fallacies and all, should cease to exist!
Try to save them from this satanic edifice and go to the real church, the local Presbyterian Calvinist Church, where they will receive good Biblical doctrines and Christian teaching - and nothing else!!
2Cor 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? 15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? 16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols"

What is "knelt with grief"? Any kneeling that may have been done was done because he was(is) the Lord. You compare this with kneeling before a created thing such as the Pieta, and cannot see the difference, nor the warning not to bow before created things? Are you not showing adoration when you do?
RE who's got the rudder's comment: Just what makes you think the PCUSA's apostacy is a Tsunami? I've known for YEARS whar an apostate church it is; plus, I've stood in front of the prenatal baby-killing death camps long enough to see the pro-death clergy there supporting the child killers. This is nothing new... Satan has always been a deceiver and murderer. The true Church will weather this storm just fine and the apostates will sink into the depths of the sea. My concern is that God's people flee the PCUSA immediately.

Thank you. 1. That is fine.
2. The Lord Jesus Christ arose on the third day, and is worshipped as he is by Christian people who have been called by him into fellowship with the Great Spirit which is God. Why have an image when you can have the real thing? Do you not know him yet?
3. I don't have a Michelangelo. And I personally would never paint an (imagined) image of Almighty God.

born sinner wrote: 1) Who said anything about deletions? 2) Mike You really shouldn't encourage the heretics like that. One of the biggest errors of the Roman church is unScriptural religious practice which provides them with a license to practice idolatry etc. Whereas if their version did not contain the 2nd commandment then that would ruin a perfectly acceptable idolatry. 3) ps; is my moniker more accurate now?
1) You did "Deleting sections of the Bible like this and with their Traditions,..."
2) Not quite sure what you said there, but better to encourage them to read their own bible. Or flat-out admit they don't believe what it says anyway, instead of claiming it as doctrinal source.
3) We could all rightly have that moniker, but it would no doubt be confusing.
The reprobates will definitely not be saved which includes the pseudo-religious idolatrous and the blasphemous.
Remember you have been told the truth; "Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:" Exod 20.
Exodus 20:4-6 4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: 5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; 6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
note Galatians 2:16 16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
No-one, not even one, shall be justified "by the works of the law".
A word to RCC visitors. Think on these things, and be not deceived.
What do the apostles say? Acts 16:31 31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
Those micro-presbyterian denominations won't be harmed by the PCUSA tsunami as long as they're far enough inland and at a sufficient elevation so they're neither immediately drown in the sea, nor drinking from their parent denomination's radioactive river nor bathing in her radioactive streams.
Complete isolation -- like the boy in the bubble -- is the only way to avoid the PCUSA's ubiquitous contagion.
Angela Wittman wrote: RE WCF Unplugged's comment: The Presbyterian church is not ruined due to a bunch of apostates in rebellion to God. We are still strong and growing in grace and knowledge everyday. However, those in the PCUSA denomination should flee as though it were Sodom and Gomorrah.
