As many as 100 high school students walked out of a national journalism conference after an anti-bullying speaker began cursing, attacked the Bible and reportedly called those who refused to listen to his rant “pansy assed.”
The speaker was Dan Savage, founder of the “It Gets Better” project, an anti-bullying campaign that has reached more than 40 million viewers with contributors ranging from President Obama to Hollywood stars. Savage also writes a sex advice column called “Savage Love.”
Savage, and his husband, were also guests at the White House for President Obama’s 2011 LGBT Pride Month reception. He was also invited to a White House anti-bullying conference....
Your first few sentences proved my point. These Christians who walked out, were offended by the words of Dan Savage… why? Because it "doesn't agree or challenge their lifestyle."
If it was a christian up there, condemning the act of homosexuality… and hundreds of homosexuals walked out, us "christians" would say… "those cowards!" "they can't stand the truth" "The stand convicted." But once christians get challenged and walk out… we applaud them.
If a Christian really wants to stand for their faith… let them not walk out like cowards, and complain because their feelings got hurt. They should sit there, listen, with respect (love their enemy) and then confront him with a biblical critique, and point out the logical fallacies in his argument.
Dan Savage= hypocrite, by being an anti-bully advocate and bullying Christians. Im not standing up for Dan. I am an ex-homosexual, so I understand his hurt. Jesus is the only way to break the bondage of sin.
Instead of walking out, stand up for Jesus and confront the man.
What is interesting to me about this, is the amount of genuine disgust and even anger about this hypocrisy from the gay Savage, that I notice welling up in me.
I'm not sure why this story "strikes a nerve" more than similar stories, but it does and it's almost like it has been engineered and well planned to do so.
Usually I think something along the lines of pray for their salvation and just remember the eternal Hell they will face if they die in this sin. It wasn't my first thought this time, something is wrong, and it's probably with me.
Pris, The word gospel means "the good news" I find nothing offensive about the the gospel of Christ. The gospels are Offensive to those who find it doesnt agree or challenge their lifestyle. The kids who walked out should have. Who says schools have it right to begin with? Dan attacks them by telling them they should use birth control then Says the Bibles bullies gays. The bible is Gods word not mans. God does not make mistakes, men do. They don't teach the Bible in school so how are kids to have a subjected perspective. When a guy shows up and uses the Bible as tool to support gays is Blasphemy! Jesus is the way, not Dan the gay man.

Dan Savage seems to be giving the homosexual community a bad name in his cursing, belligerent, insulting and anti-Bible offensive attacks.
Keep it up Dan then perhaps normal people may begin to see how satanic and evil your community is.
And whilst they are at it they might just discern your close association with the Democrats, Obama and liberalism.

Don, how are these students supposed to give an educated response when they don't even take the time to listen. We want people to listen to us when we preach the gospel, and the gospel is offensive.
Homosexuality is a "spirit", not an "orientation". That is why homosexuals like Savage are not satisfied with mere "tolerance" of their lifestyle, now afforded to them by the British and US governments, but to give our full approval of their sin. That is why men like Savage will brow-beat and berate the beliefs of those who hold an opposing view in a matter of conscience.

Sodomites DO understand that it is a sin. Rom 1:32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them. When I used to smoke marijuana, there was a sense that what I was doing was not just against the law, but immoral. There are somes things we innately know are wrong, and sodomy blatantly falls into that category.
