Masters winner Watson not ashamed of his Christian faith

Bubba Watson

There's something different about Bubba Watson.

And he doesn't care if you know it.

Watson is an outspoken Christian golfer and he uses his Twitter account -- along with his platform as one of the PGA Tour's magnetic personalities -- to share about his faith in Christ.

"For me, it's just showing the Light," the 33-year-old said. "There's people who want to put down Christians. I try to tell them Jesus loves you. It's just a way to be strong in my faith."

Amen OP,
And I would add a Roman warning;

Rom 1:32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

This is for the commentator named Barry. He stated that he loves Ellen Generes: Of course as Christians we are commanded to love everyone. But we are also ordered strongly, to hate the lifestyle of homosexuality. Romans chapter 1. Also, it is stated in the Bible--2 Cor 6:17---to 'come out from among them and be separate'! Ellen Degeneres boldly is homosexual and so as Christians, we should be bold also with what God commands--and that goes for Bubba also.

Speaking of the last name Watson. Does anybody on here believe that Charles Watson convicted murderer and former member of Manson's so called family will ever be paroled? I don't believe that Watson will ever be paroled. If the State of California had not outlawed capital punishment then Manson, Watson, Krenwinkle, Atkins and Van Houten would have been executed.

There was an interesting comment that Bubba likes Ellen Degeneres. I'm glad I was notified of this important info. That puts bubba in a different light!

I would add that, for BRF:

Mark 2
27 And He was saying to them, "The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath.
28 "Consequently, the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath."---NASB

Besides, there is only one day for the Sabbath and that is Saturday. Legalism is Shadow, Christ is Substance

Can I ask, if fans were watching the finale from sundown Sunday to the close, were they breaking the sabbath also?

Everyone around here is a Kentucky Basketball fan. Everything else is just a filler until basketball season starts and all you see and here is 'Go Big Blue'. I'm not a basketball fan and it too is very obnoxious. I do not bleed blue! I know churches that have modified their services so they could all go home and watch the basketball game and pregame show. Is it wrong? Perhaps it is, they are definetly putting a game before worship... deep down most of these people are good Christian soles that sometimes think wrong. I'm sure i do too. Sports in America are no different than other countries. I just wish we could put this kind of enthusiasm towards God and each other as they do the sports teams.
Agree, Barry. Some sports seem to have become vicarous gladiatorial games. Which if we think about it, were originally(I believe) held to distract people from important things and the corruption around them. Maybe history repeats itself after all.

But just as annoying are the critics of Christian athletes who can never live up to their critic's standards.

David, I noticed that, too.
If you lived in Georgia (like I do) and knew who Billy Payne is (runs the Masters) you would understand. The UGA Dawgs are like a religion to a lot of folks here. Often to the point of being obnoxious. It's hard to go to any public gathering here without some nut yelling 'GO DAWGS!' at the top of their lungs.
But does that nut have to be a Christian who claims to make God his top priority?
Even if I lived in Georgia I could not "understand".

Maybe it's just me but what I remember is when Bubba was handed the microphone, his first words were not about God but "Go Dawgs". I mention this because the article talks about his faith being the top priority in his life.
I find it strange that first thing he addressed the crowd about, was his former college team. Just sayin.

The Roman Road
Romans 3:10
As it is written, "There is none righteous, not even one."
Romans 3:23
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
Romans 5:12
Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned.
Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death; but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 5:8
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 10:9
That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved.
Romans 10:13
For "Whoever will call upon the name of the Lord will be saved."---NASB
