Mississippi bill may force state's only abortion clinic to close
The Mississippi state Senate passed a bill on Wednesday to impose new regulations on facilities providing abortions that supporters of the state's only abortion clinic said could force it to close.
The measure, which previously passed in the state House of Representatives, would requires physicians performing abortions to have admitting privileges at a local hospital and be board certified or eligible in obstetrics and gynecology.
Mississippi's only abortion provider, Jackson Women's Health Organization, said before the vote that it could face closure if the bill becomes law. The clinic's owner, Diane Derzis, has said she would challenge the law in court if it is signed by Republican Governor Phil Bryant....

IF the bill becomes law.How long until the aclu or some other such group joins in with the clinic, finds a liberal judge and has the law tossed out?
With a similar proportion to the abortion pandemic, if 50,000 Lincoln Nebraska citizens were suddenly and barbarically murdered, would you also casually remark about this as a "murder problem" which you would like to make "more difficult"?
I have always been for making abortions more dificult, but as I said, there needs to be a support structure for these women, and especially in this case, I would like to see religious groups supply it. Some in my state are advertising on t.v., to give support to these women who might be thinking of abortion --more power to them. Sometimes these one step solutions had better be part of a basket approach to handle the abortion problem.
Mr. Lincoln, Passing these laws are a big start. One step at a time! It doesn't matter if they are poor whites and blacks. Abortion is murder! And there are services to help the poor pregnant women and their family. God will provide. Again, abortion is wrong. By doing the right thing, God will bless the people!
it would only be good news, if Mississippi did something positive for getting women to avoid abortion. I wonder if they would, since probably most of those women are blacks and poor whites. Just passing laws against abortion has never stopped that action.
I would look at the two comments of the related article, Miss. passes abortion bill that could shut clinic, as the commenters pointed out you have to get rid of the causes of abortion, if you want to stop it. All too often, people who are opposed to abortion think they can get rid of it just by outlawing it, and that will never happen. Of course on the best ways of getting rid of abortion is to show all the people involved in this action, How to Have Victory Over Sin.
