Oakland gunman 'targeted school official'
One L Goh, 43, felt "disrespected" and "isolated", and was expelled from the school for behavioural problems, Police Chief Howard Jordan said on Tuesday.

He was allegedly looking for a female official when the shooting took place on Monday at Oikos University.

The former student surrendered at a supermarket in nearby Alameda city.

"They disrespected him, laughed at him," Mr Jordan said. "They made fun of his lack of English-speaking skills. It made him feel isolated compared to the other students." ...

Sure, but there are always exceptions. And I speculate that immigration is an additional strain, going from a generally Confucian, conformist culture to a feminized, narcissistic one that venerates childishness. Imagine anyone saying ”Quit yourselves like men” (1 Sam. 4:9) & not getting mocked. Or peruse American boys' fiction from a century ago or more.

Another one led by his feelings. You'd think by age 43 that he would have become a grown-up. And the police chief sounds sympathetic in his parroting of the killer. No "alleged" disrespect here.

According to the Oikos website, the school caters to Korean Christians, & the gunman was of Korean background. Respect is important everywhere of course, but particularly in Asian cultures, & the perceived lack of it was one of the shooter's grievances.

Not much msm coverage on this shooting of seven, as there has been on the recent shooting of one. Probably won't be any protesters marching. But this was a Christian university after all.
