Christians Face Misdemeanor Charges After Arrest for Reading Bible Outside of DMV Last Year
In February 2011, Mark Mackey, a member of a local Calvary Chapel in Hemet, California and Pastor Bret Coronado — a faith leader at the church – were arrested after they showed up at a DMV office to read and preach from the Bible.
After Mackey began preaching, it only took about 15 minutes before a California Highway Patrolman grabbed the Bible and arrested him. His crime? Preaching to a “captive audience.” Now, more than a year later, the case has made its way to court.

It's no problem Cezar.
In fact, I spent a lot of time reading the material because I initially liked the stance for the Bible and for evangelism. I expect he is a good brother despite our doctrinal differences. But if you read the About us page on the church's own website, you will see what I mean about it being an extreme grouping. When a church calls ALL forms of Calvinism heretical, that sets off a red light flashing on my head.

Cezar, I don't know anything about you, but this chap believes that in the millenial reign, the salvation of sinners will be by works only, faith being unnecessary and irrelevant because Christ Jesus will be visibly reigning from Jerusalem.
He also regards as heretical all forms of Calvinism and the doctrines of A-Millenialism.
Also he is a Bible Perfectionist, which is a rather extreme position, as espoused by Gail Riplinger etc. but regards Christian groups like the Trinitarian Bible Society as a poor example to the church.

Street preaching is a great way to reach people if it is done in a way that is not forceful. I don't really want to describe certain ways because the Holy Spirit will instruct a Christian--individually. Jesus had a 'street preaching' style. God bless Mackey and Coronado.
James, from the video I saw of these folks operating on on their captive audience waiting in line at the DMV--they were using New King James Version (NKJV Bible) and of course if there were some KJV only types waiting in that line--they would have been infuriated.
Secondly, as I had in the past pointed out to a person that being obnoxious and street preaching is not the way to do it. Spurgeon more than adequately pointed that out in his commentary on Street Preaching -- C. H. Spurgeon. It is Islamic or Catholic to force people to listen to the message--not Christian.

Charles Spurgeon wrote: At the same time it must be the gospel, and be preached in a manner worth the hearing, for mere noise-making is:in evil rather than a benefit. I know a family almost driven out of their senses by the hideous shouting of monotonous exhortations, and the howling of" Safe in the arms of Jesus" near their door every Sabbath afternoon by the year together. They are zealous Christians, and would willingly help their tormentors if they saw the slightest probability of usefulness from the violent bawling;…
I agree Alyhandra and also Mike who both just commented. According to this country, its ok to murder (abortion) but its a sin to preach the gospel of Christ! Our country has truly gone downhill. Also, we as Christians, should pray for each other to be bold for Christ and spread the gospel!
That's California for ya arrest someone for talking about god but it's cool to abort and murder a baby or smoke marijuana but don't dare preach the truth or the love of our lord and savior Jesus Christ that's a crime
the brave souls who left England and gave birth to this great nation did so because they could not read or speak the word of Christ. Why are people so afraid of BIBLE? The real crime is my tax dollars paid the officer who arrested the Pastor for exersizing his right of free speach.

Exactly. And those DMV workers are guilty of sin and need help from the great Physician. One really doesn't have to get permission to travel anyway, for there is nothing wrong with traveling. However, the antichrist, anti-freedom po po, who are guilty of sin as well, do not understand the Law nor do they understand the so-called laws of man, and will simply do violence to whosoever they please. But what do you expect from a cult of unbelievers?
