How the apostates take over (Part 2)
The apostates are like the ancient Greeks who destroyed the city of Troy by offering them an apparently innocent gift -- the Trojan horse. The people of Troy willingly took the deceptive symbol of peace and moved it within their walls. Later, under cover of night, Greek soldiers crept out of the giant horse, opened the city gates, and ushered in the enemy army.

As with Troy, apostates today take over the church through means that seem innocent at first. For that reason, Bible-believing Christians must stand at the watchtower and be prepared to defend biblical truth, even when the threat seems harmless. If not, many more Christian leaders will go to their graves with deep, deep regret. ...

Let me say this to you as well:
Notice a subtle attitude by some Calvinists _ they are more concerned about converting men to Calvinism than Christ

While some "Pentecostal People" have demonstrated the attitude _ of being more concerned with converting people to Jesus Christ and seeing them saved, than they are in converting them to being "Pentecostals"

This is certainly not true with all Calvinists nor Pentecostal People but should serve as a reminder it is the Lord Jesus Christ who is utterly important in an individuals life, far more than Calvinism or Pentecostalism.

And for me I will thankfully labor with those who are about serving Christ to see sinners saved, converted to Christ, converted to the Truth of Christ, not to convert them to Calvinism or Pentecostalism, or Protestantism, or even to being Baptist (I'm a Baptist) or any other ism, for that matter, especially not to the false religion of Ecumenism or Catholicism.

1) The hate
Friendly (?)
Thank you for reminding me of Scripture!

Psalm 119:97-104

Proverbs 8:13
The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: Pride and arrogance and the evil way And the perverse mouth I hate.

Psalm 139:21
Do I not hate them, O LORD, who hate You? And do I not loathe those who rise up against You?

So do you have a problem with God that He can and does sovereignly choose to sometimes use "Pentecostal People" to pray and witness to and tell lost people who desperately need to repent and call upon the name of the Lord to be saved to do so? While choosing not to use uncaring "TULIPists?"

Note: somehow my reference to Rom 10:13-17 was deleted from your post in responding to me.

Let me say this to you:
Those who profess to be "Calvinists" or "Reformed" ought to learn to judge with righteous judgement, including where modern day Calvinists/Reformed have unlovingly sinned against others to repent, and where non-Calvinists love Christ for dying for them and for saving them by His grace to kindly refrain from bashing them.
Thank You.

2) I would rather labor together with a zealous Pentecostal who is crying out in prayer for the Salvation of the lost, preaching hard against sin telling them of Jesus Christ, pleading with lost sinners to repent and call upon the name of the Lord that God might save them from their sins than uncaring TULIP Calvinists

1) The hate in your heart for other peoples convictions and theology is a very telling evidence. Be careful that whilst you are under the dominion of sin that you don't fall foul of your own lack of humility.

Rom 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

Gal 6:3 For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.

2Peter 3:17 Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.

2) This is why the Calvinist KNOWS the reality of Total Depravity, and deals with it. Whereas you exCatholics still have a legacy of works based religious theory.

May God bring you into the whole counsel.

Apostates don't just show up, whip in hand, upend your furniture and "take over."

Assimilation into a liberal worldview occurs imperceptibly over generations, even to the Christian. Television is just one of many tools used by Satan. What denomination has mandated its disposal or at least warned of its pernicious effects on the soul?

Your pew is filling with these 4-6 hours per day media junkies (assimilated apostates).

An "apostate" preacher merely puts his seal on a cobweb-covered comatose congregation. The silent lobotomies happened decades prior.
Yours could be next.

Not Me Lord,
Your post illustrates a telling reality:

Few who profess to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ care about anything than their own personal ox being gored.

IMHO if we give ourselves to genuienly caring about what matters to Christ _____ Ever heard of the Great Commission? You must be born again? The Father's House is to be a House of Prayer? The Scriptures matter immensley to God Psalm 138:2 , Loving our neighbor as ourself, Holiness, The Fear of the LORD, His hatred of all evil and much more we can read for ourselves in our own Bibles then everything will fall into its place and by the Grace of God and the leading and empowering of the Spirit we will be found doing His will NOT our own.

James, Louisianna
Good Post!

Jesus promises us that if we abide in His Word (not the word of religious experts) but in His Word then we are His disciples truly and indeed and that we will know The Truth and The Truth will set us free _____ not lead us into error, sin and apostasy.

Legalism definitely a big problem today, antinomianism, Gnosticism, and more all alive and well. Existentialism is a problem as well, the biggest cause is the wordless ness of the church. God's word is the best defense against heresy.

In many cases, apostates have also come into the church as legalists. This was a very serious problem in the early church--listen to, Confronting Compromise of the Gospel. Today, more modern techniques might be used, The Doctrine of Apostates But it is still the case of ignoring the Word of God.

"As with Troy, apostates today take over the church through means that seem innocent at first."

Liberals came into the church by the "wooden horse" of Arminianism.

Both require greater input and contribution by the mortal.

The difference is that the Liberals have taken this to extreme. The Arminian is somewhat more subtle.

How "apostates" gay-enabled your church is a tale with such intrigue that few would believe it even if they saw the video.
