Vatican launches criminal probe into unauthorised leaks

The Vatican has opened a rare criminal investigation into unauthorised leaks to the Italian media of confidential documents, its official paper reports.

The leaks describe alleged corruption, mismanagement, and internal conflicts among top officials.

The Vatican newspaper L'Osservatore Romano made the announcement together with an official admission that there have been "grave acts of disloyalty" .

The "Vatileaks" scandal, as it is known, has filled Italian media.

Shine, the Catholic Church is despised for innumerable reasons, e.g., Pope's Mexico trip a chance to explore church-state conflict. This article would be complete without, The Perils of Popery commentary. It's a pity that Mexico didn't continue supporting a secular state.

The evil that the Romish church has done, hardly engenders love for it by thinking people.

Lord Acton wrote:
Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

This is commonly referred to as Lord Acton's dictum. But it is the third phrase in this quote that might be the most important, if little-known:

Great men are almost always bad men.

Most people who quote Lord Acton's Dictum are unaware that it refers to Papal power and was made by a Catholic, albeit not an unquestioning one.

from Lord Acton

It is just a simple matter of, Should Roman Catholicism really be classified as a Christian religion? -- No.

Almost all non-Catholics and many Cafeteria Catholics really despise the Roman Catholic Church. The 300,000,000 Calvinists have no corner on the market of this hatred. The only difference is Calvinists have been nursing and growing their enmity for centuries.

If a thermonuclear device were detonated in St. Peter's by one of these billions and billions with this universal animus, only glee would come over the world's and Calvinism's collective face.

Actually, it's time for all Catholics who want to be Christian to quit the Romish church, not just liberal Catholics. Is A Catholic Christian An Oxymoron? and Is the One True Church Roman Catholic?

True enough, Cliff. There was an incident in the Swiss guards that the Vatican white-washed some years back, the commentary can be read on they Ian Paisley website. Unvarnished historical accounts are enough to figure out that Rome has *always* been this way. It is the archetype of rotten churches obsessed with worldly power & prestige, not truth & holiness.

The many evangelicals crawling throughout the Vatican are finally getting the word out about the evils of Roman Catholicism. They're like Julian Assange airing Rome's dirty laundry. Before you know it, many Christians will be fired from the Pontiff's personal staff. Keep an eye on this little news item.
