Christian hotel owners consider gay couple appeal at Supreme Court
Two Christian guesthouse owners are considering taking their legal fight against rulings of discrimination to the Supreme Court.

Judges have twice ruled Peter and Hazelmary Bull, from Cornwall, broke equality laws in 2008.

The couple had refused to allow civil partners Steven Preddy and Martyn Hall, from Bristol, a double room at Chymorvah House in Marazion.

The Christian Institute said it was backing Mr and Mrs Bull's case.

I pray to God that all goes well for the Bulls. God bless them for their courage in facing adversity.

Sure I see it. And if you should wish to pray that God sees to it in his sovereign grace, then by faith you shall have it.

This being an appeal (second) shows that the law is unclear in the matter.
The appeal merely shows that leave has been granted and that the appeal has not been shown to be entirely frivolous.

The right to an appeal does not demonstrate any law to be unclear.

Yes, of course it depends on the interpretation but this is not independent of the "law itself". That is to desire anarchy and lawlessness. May God forbid such in our judges.

But, if a favourable interpretation is found to be the correct interpretation of the law it will be most likely because the equality laws are found to conflict with OTHER laws and conventions.
The equality law itself, as drafted is sadly clear.

As a bad law Parliament needs to repeal it. I am disapponted that you do not see this.

This being an appeal (second) shows that the law is unclear in the matter. It will all depend on interpretation of the law, not the law itself. The Lord may, if he chooses, so affect the judges in the right direction that a good result ensues.

Well, concerning prayer, it is only sensible to pray for those things which we believe are in the will of God. Then we may expect to have those prayers answered. Seeing as the prayers of Presbys have remained unanswered concerning a Christian parliament, I would not care to waste time praying for something I do not have faith for. (But you go ahead if you wish.)

May the Lord transform the minds of these judges, even if only temporarily. Even better, to convert them to his ways. This is somewhat of a test case. If lost, the floodgates will open even wider.
May he convert them, yes. But that does not alter the law or the judges' duty to uphold the law.

Lawless judges are a curse to a nation.

Rather, it is better to have judges honestly uphold unjust statutes than have them be a tyranny and a law of their own making.

If you want these equality laws overthrown pray and labour diligently for revival, and for a PARLIAMENT that will repeal their unjust laws.
