Sen. Inhofe: The Bible Proves Global Warming Is A “Hoax”
Senator James Inhofe
Senator James Inhofe, a Republican from Oklahoma, has been calling global warming a “hoax” for years – that’s nothing new. However, he’s just written a book called The Greatest Hoax: How the Global Warming Conspiracy Threatens Your Future, and interviews with him regarding the book have been…interesting.
In an interview with Vic Eliason of Voice of Christian Youth America on Wednesday, for instance, he explained that his theory is “biblically inspired.” He claims that the idea that man-made pollution could affect the climate is “arrogance,” because, as we all know, only God can affect the climate:
Well actually the Genesis 8:22 that I use in there is that “as long as the earth remains there will be springtime and harvest, cold and heat, winter and summer, day and night.” My point is, God’s still up there. The arrogance of people to think that we, human beings, would be able to change what He is...

Pester Mike proves once again that he is excluded from the truth!
2Thes 2:11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Why worry about global warming if it doesn't change anything? What do you fear happening?
Logician's Nephew wrote: I trust that we all believe that verse of scripture. However, it simply does not address ANY features of the global warming theory and therefore cannot be used to prove global warming to be contrary to the Bible. I hope that you can see that.
Okay, after a lot of thought I see what you mean by quoting this verse, and instead of the word hoax I should have used exaggerated for I believe Global Warming is by all the so called " experts " ( bluffers would be a better word) we find popping up every time the weather pattern changes or when we get extreme weather, I'm sure we would be surprise if we knew how many of these "experts" are employed using tax payers money to keep it going.
Logician's Nephew wrote: --- However, the assertion that man cannot change the climate has no biblical basis or rationality.
You are right, there is no biblical basis for asserting that man cannot change the climate. Nor that he can. Mt St Helens blowing its top didn't cause but a temporary weather blip, but who knows, maybe cow flatulence, Chevy driving, and incandescent light bulbs can change the climate after all. I concede it wouldn't be logical to deny the possibility.

Logician's Nephew wrote: I am genuinely sorry to hear that. To deliberately misapply scripture without warrant is sinful. God is in control and hates sin, particularly hardened impenitent sin.

Elise wrote: And the Lord smell a sweet savour, and the Lord said in His heart ,I will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake; for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living as I have done. While the earth remainth, seed time and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease. The Lord's Word is good enough for me, is it good enough for you?
Unwarranted assertion. Global warming does not require the end of daytime/nightime, seasons, seedtime and harvest or even the end of having cold as well as heat. Thus the Bible does not prove "global warming" to be a hoax, but thanks for trying.
You have duplicated the moronic argumentation of Inhofe hook, line and sinker.
Your false eisegesis of Scripture is not good enough for me, no! Why should I join in such sinful behaviour?
Why do I need to prove something I have not asserted?
Agreed. Thanks Uncle Neil. It would also have been better for Inhofe!

Elise wrote: If I could prove it would you believe it?
Yes. Please prove it.
Elise wrote: Now you prove Global Warming.
Why do I need to prove something I have not asserted?
Neil wrote: It would've been better for Elise to demand positive proof from Global Warming advocates. I say they have none, for numerous objections can be raised against the methodology alone (i.e., the Scientific Method). There is no need to postulate a hoax, which goes down a psychologizing rabbit-trail.
Agreed. Thanks Uncle Neil. It would also have been better for Inhofe!
If I could prove it would you believe it? I believe we have a change in weather pattern,I believe the ice is melting but how do we know that this hasn't happened may times before since the time of the flood, we have no weather records going that far back. Now you prove Global Warming.
It would've been better for Elise to demand positive proof from Global Warming advocates. I say they have none, for numerous objections can be raised against the methodology alone (i.e., the Scientific Method). There is no need to postulate a hoax, which goes down a psychologizing rabbit-trail.
Some objections: 1) How do you choose the epoch to start your measurements at? 2) How do you know past measurements were properly calibrated? 3) How do you choose where to measure temperature for a region? It may be 10° hotter or colder here in Tucson, depending on what part of town one's in. They like to use the airport, but why not the foothills instead? 4) Along similar lines, how does one choose which statistical data summary should be used: min, max, median, mode, or mean? 5) And how do you know you've isolated all possible contributors to global temperature? If you haven't, then how do you know man has anything to do with it? Perhaps industrialization is only a coincidence.
Until these objections are decisively & rationally answered, there is good reason to consider Global Warming as mere superstition.
Hasn't the world been warming for a long time now? There used to be glaciers in the lower 48 States and now because of global warming they are further north, but that was long before cars. Where is the evidence that people control the weather? It's funny how if it gets hot out it's because of global warming and if there is a blizzard it's still because of global warming. People act like if the weather isn't 75 degrees and sunny that it is somehow our fault.
