In a development that could chill the dedication of every soldier in the field, the U.S. government has refused to deny reports by the government of Afghanistan that NATO has agreed to have the soldiers who burned copies of the Quran face trial.
Last week, Afghan president Hamid Karzai demanded NATO turn over the U.S. troops to be tried in Afghanistan. President Obama subsequently sent a letter to Karzai reassuring him that the troops involved would be punished for their actions.
Part of the three-page letter to Karzai said, “I extend to you and the Afghan people my sincere apologies. We will take the appropriate steps to avoid any recurrence, to include holding accountable those responsible.”...
Is it ironic that these soldiers accidently burned these books because Muslims defaced them by writting secret messages to one another in them? Why weren't Muslims rioting and killing before these soldiers did this? Oh yeah, they were, lol, but why aren't they protesting Muslims who have defaced the Quran?
I really like Christian's comment. It is true that Christians do not worship a book... they worship the Savior of the Book! It is also interesting to note that Islam is so connected to the "tangible" and yet life or death appears to mean nothing to their religion. What their religion is missing is the true Father of Light, the Son of Righteousness, and the Holy Spirit of Truth and Comfort. Heavenly Father, may You have mercy on these that are enveloped in this great veil of darkness. Let this darkness be removed from their minds by the illuminating power of Christ, Who has died for the sins of the world, and has risen from the grave to live for ever more, that all who place faith in Him and call upon His Holy name may be saved by your grace. Lord, God, have mercy upon the Middle East. And Lord, save these soldiers that have done nothing more than offend this realm of darkness in that land that engulfs the souls of countless men, women, and children. Amen and Alleluia!

It is what WND love to make up and SA love to repeat their made up stories. 2. It is what the AFGHANS have said and it merely restates the demand to hand over those responsible. 3. That demand has been rejected outright by NATO. 4. POTUS letter simply says that those responsible will be held accountable. Bottom line, if someone placed something in the garbage without permission or in contravention of some policy they may be told off and asked not to do it again. If there was no procedure broken they won't even be told off. SA is a hoot! Don - this is not simply a travesty. It is simply a fantasy.
Hopefully this is tabloid journalism and nothing serious happens to these soldiers.
Apparently it was perfectly fine for the same US military to burn Bibles at the same base in Afghanistan. How many Christians rioted and killed people? None! Was there an apology given to Christians? No!
I suppose these two approaches to the two religions illustrates which religion is a religion of peace and which religion the government bends over backwards to accomodate.

Because there are none. This is simply a travesty. What if we held every Muslim responsible when they burned a Bible? And what is the punishment for burning a Qur'an? Based on their insanely overdone penal system, it is probably having your hands cut off. Get us out of that land of demons!
