The Rev. Rick Warren, pastor of Saddleback Church in Lake Forest and one of America's most influential Christian leaders, has embarked on an effort to heal divisions between evangelical Christians and Muslims by partnering with Southern California mosques and proposing a set of theological principles that includes acknowledging that Christians and Muslims worship the same God.
The effort, informally dubbed King's Way, caps years of outreach between Warren and Muslims. Warren has broken Ramadan fasts at a Mission Viejo mosque, met Muslim leaders abroad and addressed 8,000 Muslims at a national convention in Washington D.C.
Saddleback worshippers have invited Muslims to Christmas dinner and played interfaith soccer at a picnic in Irvine attended by more than 300 people....
Rick, truly I apologize! I found out that this article along with others was completely false and that there are many things said about you and your true beliefs in Christ that were misrepresented. Thank you that you are indeed remaining faithful to our Savior and His Word. Thank you that you are continuing to reach the lost in Jesus name.
BNewman wrote: Rick, it is evident to me that you do not have the Spirit of Truth on this issue. You may have zeal but no knowledge. There are many wonderful ways to reach the lost - this approach uses the holy name of our Father, the true God, in vain. Rick, the Apostle John tells us that "God is light, and in Him there is no darkness at all!" May God open your blinded eyes to see not only your apostasy and the ramifications of your foolish actions, but the consequences of your own sin. The Apostle Paul tells us "But even though we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to that which we have preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so I say again now, if any man is preaching to you a gospel contrary to that which you received, let him be accursed." May you repent of this sin for His glory and your own salvation.

For my confused friend, Jehovah and Allah are not the same period. Allah was the god of Muhammed's tribe and one of thousands of idols in the kabul at Mecca. Muhammed's declared his god the only god and destroyed all the others and converted at sword point and by conquering. This notion that Allah and Jehovah are the same because Muslims now believe that he is the god of Abraham is just not so. Do not be deceived. Besides God is the one who tells us what his name is not we telling him.

Who are these members? And why should individual SBC churches heed them, since the Convention has no binding authority over congregations? Talk to any informed Baptist if you don't believe me.
No need to posit some conspiracy in high places; it's hard to find a lay Christian these days, or even an atheist Jew, who doesn't believe it's America's divine duty to defend Israel. No politician would be safe in advocating a principled retreat from Middle East intervention; he'd be blamed as an Isolationist by NeoCons & Progressives, or worse, an antisemite by the ADL & Dispensationalists.
building bridges is one thing, but is usually code for compromise. would Christians stand for their pastors joining a masonic lodge or joining a temple of some sort??? yet RW has joined the CFR, which promotes the process of joining opposite viewpoints and watering them down to their predetermined goal --- expansion of their markets. CFR invites key evangelicals so that they can learn to communicate their goals in a persuasive manner to the evangelical audience---and they have been largely successful. The SBC used to stand on just war theory and have instead compromised their biblical message and replaced it with "democratizing" the world. RW is playing the CFR card here. Not sure why SBC pastors (there are many Godly pastors in the SBC) would allow CFR members key leadership positions of influence.
Father Abraham wrote: Don't Christians and Muslims both worship the God of Abraham? Perhaps Pastor Rick isn't so evil after all.
Christians worship Jesus as God, Muslims don't believe in Him and consider worship of Jesus to be wrong. They don't love the Father or they would accept His Son. Muhammad took the one true God and distorted His gospel for his own gain.
Father Abraham wrote: If we're not in his lineage, then we're cut off from eternal life, right? Likewise with our Muslim neighbors. Rick's not evil. He's building a bridge between us and our neighbor. We should praise and not stone him.
The Apostles did not seek to ābuild a bridgeā (having a friendly chat over tea?) with pseudo-Christian Judaizers whose heresies were subtle but deadly, but rather condemned the latter most strongly, so a fortiori, how much less then should anyone build a bridge to those who deny that the Bible alone is the Word of God (in that they claim it was corrupted whereever it contradicts the Quran), & that one is justified by faith alone in Christ alone? What common ground is left when these are denied?
Muslims, no less than the Pharisees, Sadducees & their modern counterparts, are false sons of Abraham.
Christians pray to the God of Abraham isacc and Jacob! Muslims pray to the God of only Abraham. Not the same God. The muslims dont even think we serve the same God! People like Rick Warren and wicliffe only puts an even worse taste in the bad taste that muslims have in their hearts towards christians. Soon I'm gonna stop calling myself a Christian and call myself a fundamentalist follower of Jesus Christ who is the son of a God and fully God himself! A Muslim would most definately tell me "uh uh we most assuradlu do not follow the same God!"
13But evil men and impostors shall wax worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.
I asked my "reformed pastors" about Rick Warren before. And they look at me, like I am being unloving. And ALL in the Sbc, turn there heads, and say how great he is, because he does so much good!! Well so do the Mormons, and other cults!!
