Pope tells infertile couples to shun artificial procreation
Pope Benedict XVI on Saturday urged infertile couples to shun artificial procreation, decrying such methods as a form of arrogance.

Speaking at the end of a three-day Vatican conference on diagnosing and treating infertility, Benedict also reiterated church teaching that marriage is the only permissible place to conceive children. Matrimony "constitutes the only 'place' worthy of the call to existence of a new human being," he said.

The pope pressed the church ban against artificial procreation, saying infertile couples should refrain from any method to try to conceive other than sex between husband and wife. ...

some gm corn sterilized a "progressive" farmer's pigs.

if people don't want their kids to have to face fake procreation, perhaps they quite sterilizing them with "progress".

but that would be way too irrelevant to ever discuss in a state church.

Did you consider these unbiblical issues before pursuing this path?

LOL, Definitely "cool", if only in a thermodynamic sense!

That's a GOOD question. Probably half a dozen or so are still frozen somewhere, but it's been a while since I talked to my sibs about this. One of my unsaved siblings was also considering surrogate parenting as a backup for IVF (that way the kid would be at least, biologically, HALF his!).

My Christian sibling who submitted to IVF "assured" me my frozen nephews and nieces would remain so until "adopted". Still, if virtually ANY woman can just harvest her own eggs via IVF, where then will be the demand to use someone elses embryos? My fear is that most of these will eventually be harvested for their stem cells as soon as our culture becomes corrupt enough to accept such practices. Definitely NOT cool.

San Jose John wrote:
All 3 of my nephews were IVF babies, my one an only niece was adopted (from China) because my sister was too old to have any more babies (even using IVF). Both she and my sister-in-law waited until they were well into their 30s before settling down and starting a family. IVF kept them from having to hassle with adoption or Foster care. Still, were I a kid in Foster care or in an orphanage, waiting to be adopted; I might not like IVF so much! Lot better than being aborted, I guess.

If you're a Christian and you really want a baby but can't, then pornography, mast-bation, "selective reductions" (abortions) and frozen babies become cool.

While it is disgusting that many times human procreation has become a barnyard technique, in rare cases with the husband and wife being the only participants perhaps, Infertility and In Vitro Fertilization could be a moral way to have children in where nothing else would work.
