A bill that would legalise gay marriage in the US state of Maryland has been approved in the state Senate, less than a week after it passed the state House.
The bill, which will become law when signed by Governor Martin O'Malley, who sponsored it, will make Maryland the eighth US state to permit gay marriage.
But opponents have vowed to challenge the measure by putting it on the state ballot in November's election.

Maryland's Frederick County passes an English-only law and the state approves gay marriage, as proposed by the Governor. Almost sounds biblical--the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing! I wonder how the Maryland churches on the famous Sermon Audio website will handle this?
When you establish your country on freedom, liberty and equality (i.e., all men are created equal), you'll eventually reap what you sow (e.g., no-fault divorce, abortion on demand, same-sex marriage).
It's interesting to notice that all of these states, have a high percentage of nonreligious and Catholic populations.
